Annie Peterson (known affectionately as Una Lisa) lived in Logan with her brother Bill in the 60's. She was my great Aunt, and every year Una Lisa would send us a delicious box of Bluebird chocolates. How my sister and brothers would anticipate it's arrival!! I have a vivid picture in my memory of the pretty blue box, our family crowded around it while my mother opened it carefully. and how the taste of that candy forever endeared my aunt to us! great smelling chocolate packing room, where Aunt Zelda would tell me i could pick out just one chocolate. I would roam up and down the isles of different chocolates.. dark chocolate, milk chocolate, with all kinds of great tasting centers. What a decision! But, finally I would choose one with a soft center..usually milk chocolate, take it home with me, get a toothpick, take it and my homework out to the pasture beside our home, and scoop out the center-leaving just the full chocolate hull to enjoy all at once. Now how can you ever replace a memory like that one? I never have. And I have never found a chocolate like the Bordeau to equal the taste of the Bluebirds. ...read more
