It has been over a month since I wrote a $1200 check to Rick Pierce with Lone Star State Gutters as deposit for gutter guard installation. After 2 weeks of waiting he offered to issue a refund to me in full, due to delays caused by car trouble, phone trouble, wrong materials delivered, etc. He even signed an agreement with me personally to issue the full refund. It has been over 2 more weeks of waiting and I still don't have my refund. According to other online reviews that I have read, this is a common trick of his, to take deposits and then become unavailable or offer a myriad of excuses for the delay. After spending thousands of dollars, going over budget and still not finishing, we are left with poor quality work and thousands of dollars more to fix what was left behind by his crew. Over billing, double billing. Robert used unqualified workers in most of the work: brick layers to do finish painting inside our home!? Why? In response to our discussion about the quality of the work, Robert said he wasn't surprised at the issues because my wife and I should have been supervising everything. I thought that was his job as the contractor. He did say he would correct the issues, but neglected to mention that he would bill be for the work and at a higher rate for using qualified workers.
