I took my son to the saloon to get hair cut and for my facials. I paid $ 59.00 using my credit card but to my amazement it turned to $70.00 after 2 days when reviewing my transactions online. My braids came out looking very nice and extremely neat, but my experience was that they were very, very tight. I had to go back to the shop the same day to complain that they were too tight. The braider was at first reluctant to change the braids. Although it was essentially just one single long braid cornrowed onto my head, I was told it was already braided and cannot be loosened. It was only when I began unbraiding it myself at the shop that she proceeded to undo and rebraid my hair to ease the tension. Also, if you have natural hair, be wary. On the same visit, I had a large section of my six-inch unrelaxed hair untangled with a comb about the width of a rat tail comb. Needless to say, it hurt and broke my hair. The braider did use a wide tooth comb when I asked if one was available, but not before telling me the reason for the discomfort was because "you have a lot of new growth." If your hair is unrelaxed, you might be better off at a shop that caters to natural hair. ...read more
