I use to Use Wire service off the Internet ! I was so Mislead by them ,. When i called Town South Floral directly , I was amazed at how much easier this way of Ordering was , a special touch from TAlKING WITH THE DESIGNER THEM SELF ! I hate to do this - but I've called them four times and still nothing is resolved. I've explain my problem three times to two different people and they never call back. \t\n\t\nI send my mother flowers for Christmas, but they never arrived. No explanation from House of Flowers... I also sent two flower arrangements to my brothers family. They were arrangements that were FTD advertised, but both bother families received a single pointsetta (sp?) plant instead of the pictured arrangement. No call to me for ok on substitution? NOT a good way to run a business. \t\nI know stuff happens, but the store refuses to call me back to explain, and talk about refunding the cost. ...read more

The fragrance of rose has long inspired poets and lovers. One legend says the "red rose" came from the blood of the Greek love goddess Aphrodite. The name of Aphrodite's son Eros, god of love, is an anagram for rose. Folktales that come from China to Europe tell similar stories about the rose's symbolism as the unfolding of both spiritual and physical love and perfection. Originally from Asia Minor, the plant was brought by Turkish merchants to Bulgaria, where the most valued essential oil is now produced. It is gentle and nontoxic but costly, because so little can be made during distillation and because the bushes need so much care. The oil is distilled or solvent-extracted from blossoms; but, as it is difficult to separate from water, the oil must be distilled at least twice, resulting in two products. The first is called attar of roses; the by-product is called rose water. The unadulterated oil congeals when it cools, but can be liquefied again by the warmth of the hand. It has been an age-old favorite essential oil in facial creams because, in addition to its incredible fragrance, it is reputed to fend off aging. It is also used in aromatherapy preparations and costly perfumes. And, when it comes to improving your memory look no farther than - the Rose. That's the word from researchers who demonstrated that the scent of a rose can reinforce memory. According to a report in the Science Journal (www.sciencemag.com) taking a whiff of rose scent while learning a task and then being exposed to the same smell during sleep helps memories to set. Jan Born of the University of Lübeck (www.uni-luebeck.de) and his colleagues exposed people to the smell of roses one evening while they learned the locations of various picture cards laid in a square. Half of them were then given the same odor to smell as they slept, while the other half had an odor-free night. When they were tested the next day, those who'd had a rosy sleep remembered 97% of the locations -- without the roses this figure was 86%. Doesn't seem like much, but it's just enough of a difference to add credibility to the study. The connection between scent and memory has long fascinated scientists. Everyone has experienced the phenomenon of catching a whiff of a particular odor and magically being transported to another time and place.
