About Glen Rose, TX
Glen Rose is a city in, as well as the county seat of, Somervell County, Texas. It is located about sixty miles southwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. During the Prohibition Era the city was the center of moonshining, which earned it the nickname "The Whiskey Woods Capital of the State". The city's largest employer is the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. Other industries in the city include farming, tourism and ranching. Students living in the area attend the Glen Rose Independent School District. Among Glen Rose's major tourist attractions are Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, Dinosaur Valley State Park, and the Creations Evidence Museum.
