Not impressed AT ALL with their business. I prepaid for a year of service and then was BILLED after my contract and told that I owe them money for services DURING that year. Every month of service the technician would call and want to come on that same day - so I have to pull strings to arrange to meet him on such short notice. My friend uses Cooks and she loves them and doesn't get yanked around like the Dodson people did me. I called multiple times and could never get a manager on the phone... tried to rush us into signature on a several thousand dollar job without reviewing the contract. When we did take the time to review, he became agitated. We soon learned why, the scope of the job had been reduced on the contract, the price we were quoted was not the same as the contract stated, the terms we were quoted were not the same and when we questioned the representative, he could not justify the changes. He rudely yanked the contract out of my husband's hand and stormed out. Orkin was invited into our home to provide services, the only thing they managed to do was insult us in the privacy of our home and leave us questioning the integrity of their employees. ...read more

So I normally would not post this sort of thing, however I learned a valuable lesson in how NOT to treat a client yesterday from an Orkin Pest Control employee. CRAWL SPACE MOISTURE AND THE MOLD AND FUNGUS IT CREATES! Hi folks, It's time to talk Mold and Fungus in your crawl space. During the wet rainy season your crawl space is probably getting some of this moisture. When it begins to warm in the spring that moisture will begin to aid in the mold and fungus growth on the wood in your crawl space. You see that wood acts as a sponge to wick the moisture into it and then the mold and fungus begin to grow. Some simple fixes are possible such as vapor barriers, temp vents etc. Often times it requires treatment to the wood with Bora-care or Timbor to kill and prevent further growth. In severe cases your crawl space may require an encapsulation to seal all moisture from the crawl space. There are many ways to do this but one thing you must do is get bids from different companies. Bids could be from $4,000 to $20,000 so beware. Most large national companies can be on the high side with no differences in product or installation! Please get second opinions from 3 companies large and small before getting termite work or crawl space encapsulations. Prices can vary widely and are mostly due to over head etc. There are no magic bullets that one company has over another.All products and procedures are available to large and small alike.
