I've lived at University Edge for years now. I've had my fair share of problems with them, and they still have a lot of growing to do. However, they are by far the best apartment complex in the Johnson City area. No where else is even close! ...read more

We recently saw this post and wanted to go ahead and address the issues in the review. I'm sorry that the previous resident felt taken advantage of, however, we do have rules in place to make sure that our property is maintained and kept up. These rules and fees are stated in our lease agreement. In regards to the charges at move-out, again I'm sorry that you think that we charged a lot during move-out, unfortunately I can't address that issue on here as that pertains to your specific account. I'd be happy to discuss that with you in our office or over the phone. However, we do take pictures of all damages that are charged back to the resident. Please feel free to contact our office if you have any other questions at 423-928-9704. Sincerely, University Edge Management Staff ...read more

Awful, we do apologize for the internet being down for almost 2 weeks when you moved into your apartment. Unfortunately, when it comes to internet or other technical issues with the apartment, outages are out of our control. However, as soon as they are brought to our attention, we work with our service provider to get these issues resolved as soon as possible. We are aware that do to the current number of devices that the typical renter uses puts a strain on our current bandwidth. We recommend that if you have a router in your apartment to please unplug that because even though that may help out your apartment, it does cause further issues with others internet services. We are looking into increasing this bandwidth for our residents, we will inform our residents if this increase takes place this year. If you have any other concerns, please feel free to contact our office at 423-928-9704.\ Sincerely, University Edge Management Staff ...read more

This rating shouldn't even had one star, but no stars wasn't an option. If you sign a lease with University Edge, you WILL later realize that you have made one of the biggest mistakes of your life. I highly recommend staying far away from leasing with this disastrous place. I signed a lease my freshman year and I very much wish I could have taken it back. They will rob you blind with their high price in rent, rules that if disobeyed could turn into high fees (such as 50 dollars for hanging your towel over the patio, 50 dollars for trash bag left outside door, etc.), and not to mention the money they still drain from you once your lease is up. Charges for carpet cleaning and carpet replacement. Why would you clean a carpet and then replace it with a new one? Don t think that your security deposit pays for anything that might get damaged. They will keep your deposit, and in addition, charge you hundreds more. Not only is the money an issue, there is a lack of privacy. They come into your ...read more

Great company....very nice people. Linda Walsh is Mr. Pittman's agent and is professional pleasant and efficient. They have apartments and houses in Johnson City. Some properties are pet friendly with a non-refundable pet fee. Heritage Realty

I hired Heritage to manage a small group of apartments and they ran it into the ground. They left teants in apartments without paying rent for 4 months without so much as giving an eviction notice, failed to rent vacant apartments, and didn't address repair issues. I was disgusted with their lack of professionalism, lack of knowledge, and entire lack of performance. ...read more

Pros: Beautiful property and mountain view, safe, clean and comfortable, sweet office staff, convenient location for students, responsible neighbors, quiet and private, very VERY pleasant place to live. Cons: Outdated appliances, outdated light/utility fixtures, all of which worked perfectly well, just not the prettiest. Mega Con: ATMOS ENERGY !WAY Too expensive, unresponsive, rude, (I went 8 frigid days without heat!) They wouldn't send anyone to turn on the heat, though we paid out deposit/bill. "Fear of being stranded in snow"-Atmos "Fear of freezing in our sleep."-Us 5 stars, perfect, best property in the area, IF the appliances were all electric and Atmos energy was unnecessary. 3.5 stars if Atmos Energy is a factor. ...read more

this place is the worst. They fail to take care of the units and they are really old. you get to look at a great one and then the one you are given is NOTHING like the one you seen. then if you go to the office for any reason, be prepared to wait for the girls to go smoke, take a few phone calls while talking, or even yell at you. they have no idea what it means to run an office and the only time they will take care of something is if you threaten a lawyer or if you dont pay. and if you dont pay they are adding every fee they can or even when there is a issue in the unit, you get charged for it and before you know it you have a huge bill for something you had nothing to do with and the have 'lost' their records or lost their receipts. they take app fees which is normal BUT its not normal when i pay 25, my husband paid 25 and then i paid 25 per my two children. i had 100 in fees and I am 28 with 2 small kids. how is this fair? ...read more

my husband and i rented form there about 2 yrs. ago with our 1 yr. old. we were there only a yr. and then it all broke loose. the manager susan stephens messed our paperwork up so it said that we owed 900 dollars in back rent. a week later she said it was taked care of a straightened out. come to find out she was taking us to court for money we didnt owe. then she said we damaged the apt.so we had to pay another 600 dollars. on top of court costs. she only believes the older people so if your young and you rent from her she will blame everything on you and if anyone ever says that you done anything she will not even listen to you from there on out. not to mention her family and friends stay there so you cant do anything without her knowing. ...read more

They will send you all bills to fix carpet , wall color etc. Recently they made their renter to pay about $4000-$ 5000 after they moved out and left the town. I currently live in SilverCreek, and I enjoy it very much. Yes, the rent is high, as are the utilities, but overall, its very nice. Its quiet, not too crowded, clean, the residents and staff are always friendly, theres always plenty of parking, the lake is pleasant, though not the nicest in the world, the stream is great for kids to explore in, and it's very conveniently located right next to Roan Street, which houses the mall, grocery stores, drug-stores, movie theatre and restaurants, among other things, and is also only a 10 minute drive to ETSU. The only downsides I can mention are that the staff can be hard to get in touch with if its not an emergency, but as I said, when you DO get them, theyre always willing to help. Our water heater broke and flooded a good portion of our apartment when we first moved in, for example. They were out the next day to fix it and the day after that, they replaced our carpet; no charge, no hassle. Plus, theres a big, open field right behind the complex for playing sports, walking the dog, etc. 4/5 stars! ...read more

I have to say that for the price you have to pay to live here it is not worth it. This place has no fitness center, nor any other places to workout. The landscaping and the ""laundry mat"" are below par. How can there be so many people but only two washers and two dryers? (note that they barely work) So if the rent is so high, and everything is below par then where is all the money going? (Do the math.) The front and rear decks need to be pressure washed and the trash areas need to be maintained better. This area is only served by Charter Communications (which has to be the worst provider ever), and any other provider is not allowed by the apartment complex. The pros to this area is that it is close to everything, and the maintenance worker is very friendly. ...read more
