Butler is a part of the northeast region of Tennessee known for its location deep inside the Cherokee National Forest and its proximity to Watauga Lake. Major attractions include Butler Museum and Cherokee Forest Mountain Cabin. Each year in the spring and summer seasons there are excellent horse riding opportunities. Among the biggest companies in Butler are Stone Mountain Realty and Sugar Hollow Retreat. The biggest schools here are Little Milligan Elementary School and Watauga School. One of the best places to visit when you are in Butler is Dogwood Springs Ranch.
