La Reine Nixon is a lifetime resident of Philadelphia, PA. She has owned and operated a full service Art Gallery and Custom Framing business for 15 years The 49TH Street Art Gallery.She is single and has a beautiful daughter Alicia. After collecting and selling Fine Art for many years she uncovered her own ability to paint. Her name "La Reine" means The Queen in French hence, The Queen Paints.She has produced hundreds of original paintings and prints and has done 10 book covers including The Vance Legacy by F. Her latest and most challenging business venture is The Queen Paints Essential Acquisitions and Marketing, a unique online virtual shopping mall. She started her first business at the tender age of 14 doing hair and nails for her family and friends. That was the beginning of understanding that the key to success was to be self employed. Several years later she and a friend established Party Peddlers, Inc. At the time it was a truly novel idea. For a generous fee, this two person company would plan and carry out every detail of a special event for 2 to 200 people. Later, La Reine opened Special Occasions, a retail and service establishment that planned special events and sold the party supplies for them. She specialized in balloon decorating, sculpturing and themed events. She produced events in almost every hotel and banquet facility in the tri state area.

After the business closed she went to work in the corporate arena. Because she had been so successful planning and executing large events, she started working as The Director of Development for The National Minority Supplier Development Council. This non-profit was instrumental in developing minority participation with majority companies. La Reine was in charge of networking events, meeting planning, fundraising , procurement programs, local and National Trade Shows. She would hold other positions in the same capacity for the next several years with The March of Dimes(Walk America) and Community Options.
La Reine Nixon gained national recognition with her poignant pastel of R&B; singer, the late Gerald Levert. Her portrait was center stage at the singers memorial service and thereby featured in Jet Magazine(Dec.2006)(Jan.2007) as the "Portrait Artist to The Stars" as well as Sister 2 Sister Magazine.While working her gallery business she and her sisters Paula and Brenda was asked to promote Evelyn "Slim" Lambright's new book"The Sweethearts of Soul" based on the real life story of the group in the 60's. After a sixties makeover, the group of 5 embarked on a singing tour.

La Reine has been featured in many local newspaper articles,several cover stories and The New Visions Television Show (ABC) After another local television show featured her as a "National Treasure" she was asked to Co-Host the program. She got her press credentials and began covering Arts and Entertainment for The Tone Live TV Show.
