While told on the phone the day before there was both a blackberry and a palm pre to try with internet service, there was only 2 palm pre's that partially worked. Salesman unknowledgeable and blindly pushing palm pre. Other salesman when talking with a customer said he loved his blackberry but Sprint made him get and soley use a pre. When to buy and I upset at price, salesman said "look at how much you are saving, originally 500 something only 200 after mail in rebate..." , "the blackberry is 150" (failing to mention the $100 mail in rebate). He tried to push accessories including the stone to charge the pre due to bad battery life. We left, went to sprint booth at providence place mall where salesman had both models working. He gave honest assessment, was not pushy, gave a lot of service. He works on good reviews from customers, not from selling more product or more expensive product. I trust him SO much more! I went to the sprint store with an intent to by a blackberry curve - I had also been considering a palm pre. We called ahead of time and were told they had both models in the store that we could try out. The next day there were two palm pre models (one stalled and one working very spottily due to demo mode which no one had been able to turn off) They said the original blackberry had been stolen weeks ago. We overheard one of the sales people tell a customer that he had a blackberry curve but was forced to get a pre by sprint (he no longer had his blackberry with him, hence no store model). The salesperson was using persuasion techniques to try and get me to get a pre when I gawked at the cost- "the original cost was... you ultimately pay after mail in rebate $200, look at the deal you are getting", "the blackberry is 150" (failing to mention the $100 rebate making it $50). We next went to sprint booth in providence place mall - he had both models working and was not a pushy salesman. ...read more
