Goshen Terrace Apartments

I was in my senior year of college at West Chester University when my roommate and I moved into Goshen Terrace. The main reason we made this move was to get more bang for our buck and we were a bit sick of college campus living to say the least. We were pleasantly surprised with Goshen Terrace. I loved the peace and quiet of the complex, which afforded me much better sleep and study time than living on campus. We didn't know what to expect being college students and moving off campus but found all of our neighbors very respectful and that was something we reciprocated. As far as service requests go, the maintenance group is superb and there is a very quick response rate. Good communication with the leasing office through emails or notes under our door. One thing my roommate and I were concerned about prior to moving in was our electric bill. We read reviews saying they can be very high, but they weren't at all. Logically speaking, as long as you don't consistently turn the operating system on and off, you should be fine (lower usage during the day if no one is home, increase usage as needed). Always ample parking, even for guests. Never felt unsafe. The complex was always well maintained and very professional staff. I am not the easiest to please, and I don't have ONE complaint about Goshen Terrace. My roommate and I were more than satisfied and we were really sad to have to graduate and leave the complex. We highly recommend Goshen Terrace :) ...read more

Price keeps going up and nothing gets fixed. To start the new manager has no care or respect for the residents. She doesn't have to live with any of the problems so she doesn't care. During the summer you can only keep your apartment 10° lower than it is outside, so if it 100° outside it is 90° inside your apartment. But they tell you that it is totally normal and nothing is wrong with your a/c so deal with it. Now it's winter and my roof is leaking water in my apartment, but they can't do anything because it's dark out so deal with it. My car gets broken into and I tell the manager and she basically tells me I must of left my door unlocked and it's my fault so deal with it.so if you feel like dealing with it and every year rent increase than this is the place for you. ...read more

Town's Edge Apartments

The people who work at halfpenny management do not care about their residents, plain and simple. When you tell them that you have an issue, they will ignore you. Even if you have a major bug issue, they will let you live with the bugs and continue to take your money. I had a roach problem because of our disgusting upstairs neighbors (who also had more people living there than were allowed, which is another problem that Halfpenny did not rectify). Despite all my calls, the company did not hire an exterminator for 7 months after the problem started. By that time bugs were crawling on just about everything we owned... in the cabinets, in the dishwasher, on our eating utensils, you name it. Because they let the problem get so out of control before hiring an exterminator, I now am dealing with trying not to transport bugs to my new apartment. Yet, I just found a bug in my new place tonight. If halfpenny gave half a s*** about their tenants, they wouldnt have problems like this. They dont deserve anyone's money and I hope that this review will convince people not to live there. If you are reading this and thinking about renting from any of their properties, look elsewhere. There are tons of complexes in the area. The people in the office seem nice at first but when you call about a problem they will brush you off and when you call again they'll act like you never called in the first place. Unprofessional and unacceptable. Worst management company in the philadelphia area. ...read more
