MZeigler - General Contractor, LLC

5.0

By Pete & Vicki Hickman

We are very happy with the new addition that Matthew Zeigler has constructed for us. It is obvious that Matt takes pride in his workmanship and tries very hard to please his customer. He had to battle nature and a tight deadline to make our addition happen. He did so with great courtesy to us and never seemed flustered by the setbacks that arose. His worker, Roger, is a great asset to Matt’s team and we were impressed by his skills and his never faltering work ethic. We have gotten many compliments on our new home. People are especially fascinated with the Solatubes, which make our rooms so bright and add to the open, outdoor feel that we wanted. We have lived for thirty some years in our 3500 square foot, 200+ year old farm house, which is a lovely home, but is very dark compared to this new addition. The addition is just what we wanted; a place that, though it only has 1300 square feet, feels very spacious, airy and bright. We look forward to spending many years in our new home. ...read more

Contractor Relationships

In an economy when we are watching every penny spent and want to get the most value for our money, I am wondering why so many people are still shopping around for a contractor to do their home care work? I know that when my appliances have problems or just need serviced, I call the same appliance company to do the work. When my car has issues or just needs serviced, I call the same mechanic. So then, why is it that when my home has issues or just needs regular service work I shop around?I want to get the best value for my money and I want to pay the lowest price, that's why. But hey! Wait a minute, I want that no matter what it is that is being serviced or repaired don't I? But I still use the same mechanic for my car. I don't shop around. I've already found a mechanic that I know and trust. I know that when he works on my vehicles that I may not always pay the lowest price but I know that the job will be done right and I won't be cheated. When my appliances need worked on I call the same appliance repair company because, even though I may not get the lowest price, I know them and know that the work will be done right and I will not get cheated. Why is this? Well, it's because I did my seaching initially found the price that I was comfortable with, used the business once and was pleased with the work and service that I continue to use them and don't worry anymore whether the price is the lowest. I know that the quality and service are there. No more shopping around for me. Life is so much easier when I don't have to shop around when my car or refridgerator need serviced or repaired. So then, why don't we all take the same approach to our homes? Just like our vehicles and our appliances, we want someone we can trust and depend on to work on our house. Shopping around is such a hastle and waists so much time. Wouldn't it be nice to have a local contractor who we can call about ANY home care need and know that it will be taken care of by the same company, with the same committment to quality and service each and every time?Well, I'm here to tell you that there is a contractor that is local and has a high committment to just that, quality and service. It is MZeigler - General Contractor, LLC located at 106 W. Main St. in Waynesboro, PA.I've been told that when people think of a 'General Contractor' they think that this is a business that takes on only large jobs and subcontracts everything out to other contractors. I am here to tell you that that is NOT the case with us. We are the General Contractor that 'Generally' does everything. We are looking for customers not jobs. We want to establish a working relationship with our customers and want them to feel comfortable and satisfied with our services. We want them to call on us anytime there is service or repairs to be made. It doesn't matter if a storm came by and knocked of one small peice of siding or they want a whole addition or even a new home built. We want our customers to know who to call when they have an issue arrise with their home. We want them to know who to call when they have a large remodel project to do. We want them to know who to call when they need a deck repaired or built. We want them to know who they can call for anything around thier homes and know that that is the only company that they have to call and deal with. That one call does it all.We here at MZeigler-General Contractor, LLC will handle all the details of getting the job done for you. Do we sub out work? Yes, we do. However, we also do the work ourselves. Whether a sub is called in on a job or not, you the homeowner only have to deal with us. We make sure the job is done right, it doesn't matter if we do the work or if we have a subcontractor do the work. We guarantee all work done by us and for us.When and why do we subcontract work out? We only subcontract out work if it will benefit the homeowners. Sometimes we can get better pricing by having a subcontractor do the work. Or sometimes when our work load is heavy, we will subcontract out the work in order to complete the job for the homeowner in a timely manner. We also will do the work ourselves. As I said, we look to see how we can give the customer the best quality job in the most economical way possible. Always with quality and service as a number one priority. We treat every job as if it were our own. If it wouldn't be good enough for us, then it isn't good enough for our customers. We take the sticker shock before we give it to our customers and usually will try to get the numbers as low as possible before contacting the customer. We are a down to earth contracting company that keeps it real for our customers. We are practical and frugal but not 'cheap'. We take the time to hear our customers requests and concerns. We always work 'with' our customers, not 'for' them. Our customer's jobs are just that, their jobs, not ours. Therefore, our customer always has the last say. Even if that means making changes when needed. So, if you are tired of shopping around for a good contractor and just want to be able to 'know' who to call when your home needs something, give MZeigler - General Contractor, LLC in Waynesboro a call. We promise, One call does it all.     Who ya gonna call?    MZeigler - General Contractor, LLC    106 W. Winter's Coming

Winter is definitely on its way. You can feel it in the air. Is it going to be a mild or hard winter? That is yet to be determined but what we do know is that heating costs are definitely on the rise and will cost the homeowner more this winter than any of our previous winters. Is your home the most energy efficient that it can be? The easiest way to cut costs this winter is to make sure that your windows and doors are not leaking to the outside. If your heat is going out your windows and doors then you can bet that that Old Man Winter will be coming in them. Replacement windows and doors that are energy efficient are your best protection against higher heating costs this winter. Windows can be easily installed in no time at all.  The cost of replacing your windows will be recouped over and over again in the coming years, starting with this one. Let us wrap your exterior wood around your windows while we're replacing your windows and be on your way to a maintenance free exterior while improving the curb appeal of your home. If you really want to save money on your electric bills, consider having Solatube daylighting systems installed in rooms that require lighting throughout the day.
