For Christmas my wife gave me a gift certificate for image consulting services. She felt I needed a more polished look to fit my new promotion in a Fortune 500 company. I meant with Janelle and loved how she was able to help me understand what she does and how she can help me. We did a 'Closet Audit' during our first meeting and then went shopping. In a total of 5 hours, I learned more about my personal style and how to pick flattering clothing than I have ever known before! She was smart, witty, very knowledgeable, and personable. Every Page on internet that is viewed in a browser is just a bunch of code and the browser interpreting it into a visually pleasing site for your eyes (or not so visually pleasing). In that code web designers such as myself and marketers such as myself place lots of code that one will never see but is important to search engines. Since Google has 75% of the search engine market, many people do what they think the google algorithm will want to bring their page to the top of their list. Not the side or the Top Highlighted two or three, but the top of what is called the "organic" list. The top and side are paid advertisements and in many cases are not worth it because simply put, the majority of people do not click on them because if they are buying something, they know those links will be quite pricey due to the marketing costs and they just won't get a good deal. Here are three simple tips that can help you get to the top of the organic list: 1. Key Words and phrases in the Meta Tag Descrption. There are tools out there that will generate the top keywords for a particular item, service, phrase, brand etc. One can be found developed by google for free Here. 2. Keywords in a Phrase no longer than 5-8 Words in the Meta Tag Title. (Meta Info can be found in the beginning of the body of your html code) 3. Writing Articles....Wikipedia (Not adverts) with your link in their somewhere, wikihow, etc. That's 3 of 10s of things to do when it comes to Search Engine Optimization/Marketing known in short as SEO or SEM.
