The wedding planner promised us the day of our dreams there, and it was the worst nightmare ever! They ran out of food for 70 of our guests and gave some of them leftover mashed potatoes from cocktail hour. Some of our guests were sitting/waiting for their meal for an hour and a half. We paid money to have menus created that were only followed for the first 180 of our guests. They also broke my champagne flutes before we were able to use them, their waiters were using the "F" word to our guests, and they forgot to put our the napkins we had brought in. Having moved to Philadelphia recently we heard nothing but good things about Le Bec-Fin and how it was one of the top fine dining restaurant in the city. My husband and I decided to check it out on a Tuesday night in May 2009 for our 2 year wedding anniversary. I've dined at some of the best restaurants in the world such as The French Laundry, Benoit in Paris, and Grammercy Tavern (to name a few). I am being very fair minded and giving 3 stars although i would like to give none. Edgemont is a beautiful Hall and the food is really good. However having to deal with the double talk is very stressful. You are told one thing and then told another. do yourself a favor get every little detail in writing before hand, do the math yourself as they are known for over charging , which I have heard from many people that have had the same problems. Where almost every other caterer I have dealt with over the years will make extra food just in case extra guest show up , Edgemont makes you pay for all guests before hand and will not even set up an extra table for your maybe's . I was told by the owner they order their food and do not make extra , even saying they order one roll per person !! I had some old froiends in ton looking for a genuine Philly italian dinner. We canceled our plans to go to Ralph's at the last minute after I read some bad reviews on this site. I picked LaStanza by chance since I had never been there before. They we very friendly from the minute I called for a reservation (probably not necessary). THe parking lot was great and the food was relly great. This may have been the best Italian dinner I have had in 10 years. I was eating off of everyone's plate so I know that every dinner was great! This restaurant is my absolute favorite, favorite, favorite!!! My fiance took me there to propose to me and it was so awesome! For my appetizer I had the Delicious mushroom stuffed with Crab... It was ABSOLUTELY delicious. My entree was so tasty! And for dessert they brought me out some kind of cake... Although thats when the ring came out so I was more concerned about the ring than the cake! The Place is beautifull, but I went about 1 month ago and ordered a Ceaser Salad. It tasted like raw Garlics crushed in lettuce with grilled chicken. I did not eat it, the waitress asked me how it tasted, I told her I hated it.. she smiled back. I guess its good if you like RAW GARLIC\t\nToday I ordered the Talapia. The tomatoe topping tasted a few days old.
