NEVER finished the job.. Held up the construction.. WANTED paid in full. Then did not deliver nor install. AFTER being paid in FULL. Cabinets did not line up nor fit appliances. HAD to pay another contractor to fix his mistakes.. ALSO a moving company to GET them... AFTER his complaints of having to get the measurements, ALL measurements off.. YOU hire a PROFESSIONAL cabinet maker to get the measurements right.... I thought that is what you hire a professional to do? HAD to pay to have the cabinets on site and pay another contractor to FIX his many mistakes.... I have done multiple remodels and built several homes. THIS cabinet maker was a nightmare that cost the job thousands of dollars to fix. HIS abusive bashings not only at me but about another client he had in Sunriver. LESS then stellar.. Unprofessional.. CLAIMS as he screamed at me he is bankrupt.. FOR good reason ...read more

Difference between Landscaping in Redmond OR and Landscape Maintenance

Landscaping is definitely different than landscape maintenance in Central Oregon. The difference is, first legally our company cannot say we do Landscaping when we are just doing upkeep. For example, there are two types of Landscapers. The first isLandscape Contractor, which according to Oregon.gov, “Landscape construction professional means any person who for compensation or with the intent to be compensated arranges, undertakes, offers or contracts to undertake, or submits a bid to perform activities requiring the art, ability, experience, knowledge, science and skill to either plan and install lawns, shrubs, vines, trees or nursery stock or prepare property on which lawns, shrubs, vines, trees or nursery is to be installed”. The second isLandscape MaintenanceContractor which according to Oregon.gov, “Landscape maintenance is unregulated in Oregon and does not require a license with the State of Oregon.” Landscape maintenance is the upkeep of an already installed landscape, which includes mowing, edging, (some) pruning, weeding, spreading bark dust, adjusting sprinkler heads, programming irrigation controllers, the planting of outdoor pots and containers when the pots and containers can be moved without the use of power equipment when empty or filled. They also can replace (planting of) shrubs, vines, trees and nursery stock which are similar in habit and culture, replace existing lawns, plant annuals, perennials and/or bulbs in existing beds, d non-concrete landscape edging, fix three or fewer malfunctioning sprinkler heads with heads of the same or of a similar type and hydraulic equivalency per job site similar type and hydraulic equivalency per job site without a license. However, a Landscape Contracting Business license is required when a company plans or installs new plantings or creating new planting areas, Install or repair irrigation systems or maintain irrigation systems with the use of compressed air, plan, install, maintain or repair arbors, decks, patios, driveways, fences, retaining walls, walkways, concrete landscape edging or ornamental water features and Install, maintain or repair drainage systems and ornamental water features. We are licensed to do Irrigation in Central Oregon and Landscape Maintenance. We have aLandscape Contractors Board license #8834which, according to the State of Oregon, we have, “Passed the competency examination and are licensed to provide services as an employee or owner of a licensed landscape contracting business. These services include the planning and installing of lawns, shrubs, vines, trees or nursery stock including the preparation of the property on which the plantings are to be installed, the construction and repair of ornamental water features, drainage systems and irrigation systems; and planning and installing fences, decks, arbors, driveways, walkways, patios, landscape edging and retaining walls. A landscape construction professional also supervises unlicensed employees of licensed landscape contracting businesses.” Landscaping isn’t what you think it is nor does it sound like what most Central Oregon customers want, however, they use the term quite often when legally, we cannot use it for advertising. When we advertise for lawn upkeep, we cannot say it is Landscaping, rather we have to call it Landscape Maintenance. And when we advertise our Irrigation work, we must use our LCB# reflecting that we are licensed to install irrigation lines (lawn piping), install lawns and install plants/trees etc. Since we are licensed to do all of the types of work above, we do not have to worry about the city or county ordinances of installation. This means that if we did not have a license and were to do some install work, we would have to adhere to city and county laws when it comes to installations. But, again, we are fully licensed as a Landscape Contractor and a Landscape Maintenance Contractor LCB# 8834.Contact ustoday for a free quote! http://www.mikesirrigation.net/landscaping-landscape-maintenance/ ...read more
