Almost 30 years ago my poor decisions landed me in the Federal Court system. My Guardian Angel put be in front of the Honorable Judge Thomas R. Brett. I had plead guilty to a lesser crime than I was charged and Judge Brett sentenced me to the maximum 4 years sentence. Prison gives a man plenty of time to think about life. While in prison I wrote Judge Brett several letters explaining that I had realized the seriousness of my crimes and that I was truly sorry. I advised him that I felt that my time would be much better utilized working and taking care of my small daughter and family. Much to my surprise Judge Brett believed in me. He modified my sentence and I was soon on Federal Probation. I have worked hard and been a productive citizen. I have another daughter and a new wonderful wife.
