I was referred to this surgeon by my family doctor for an abscess. After I waited at the reception for one and a half hours, I spent very few minutes with the doctor. Once I explained the problem, he mentioned that I had to see a colo-rectal surgeon. There was no procedure done or no prescription given. The biggest mistake I made was I didn't dispute the copay I paid, which I should have done. I was charged $356 just for the consult. I talked to the doctor's office and explained the situation and asked if they could revert the charge. They told me that since I "talked" to the doctor, it was officially a consult and that I had to pay the bill. I feel cheated. Especially because he did nothing to solve my problem. I would strongly discourage anyone from consulting this doctor or for that matter any surgeon in Westerville Surgical Specialists cos it looks like that's the policy with 'Westerville Surgical Specialists' rather than the doctor himself. ...read more
