To sign or not to sign...that is the question.

Some discussion has formed around the backyard rule that states:  if you make all 4 bags in the hole, you get to sign that cornhole board.  The question is...does slop count?  I have to say, like it or not...4 in the hole is 4 in the hole. If you are playing by ACO rules, which I believe most of us do, then those are the breaks. Now...the ACO has no ruling on cornhole board signing. If the owner of said cornhole boards decides that it takes 4 air mails, or a cornzizzle (its legit, look it up) to get your name on the boards, then so be it....right? If you own the boards, you make the rules.  I have signed a set of boards 5 times in the same night, earning two of them on 4 airmails. The other three were standard 4 baggers, drag-ins, etc. Personally, I don't care if you smash 8 bags, you're not signin' my cornhole boards...they're too pretty!  BG www.buckeyegameboards.com cornhole boards | custom cornhole boards | cornhole bags | cornhole accessories ...read more

The truth about cornhole bags

We were recently asked about the actual specifications of cornhole bags.  There seems to be an idea that the specs have become more laxed oover the years as far as weight.  To clear up any confusion, we have compiled this information.  The ACO and The CPA ( a new league, called the Cornhole Players Association that seems to be making big ground in a short period of time in the cornhole world) specs are posted below-Here is an actual cut and paste from the Cornhole Players Association website:The CPA only approves bags that are made with the following dimensions and specifications:1. Each finished product should measure 6" squared and weigh 14 ½ to 16 ouncesHere is an actual cut and paste from the ACO website:Each bag is made from two fabric squares with double stitched seaming. The bags should be made from a durable fabric like canvas or American Cornhole SoftTouch. Each finished bag measures 6" x 6" and weighs roughly 15-16 ounces.Personally, I can tell if a bag is 14oz and less than 6 inches square...and I don't prefer it. I would say the bottom line is: bags should be as close to 1lb as possible and definitely a finish size of 6in square. Hope this helps answer future questions about this topic!BGbuckeyegameboards.com  cornhole boards|cornhole bags|custom cornhole bags|cornhole accessories ...read more
