Been to many Panera Breads but am consistently disappointed by Yorktown's. This place used to be great. Then they got sloppy. You buy your food then can't find a clean table - ever! You go to the restrooms, they're hit and miss. The food has gotten skimpy, especially for the money they're now charging. And finally, the management needs to be replaced. Pleasant sure, but they sit at tables eating and meeting with each other while the tables are a mess and the floors are gross. To be fair, not all Paneras are this bad - but this one is. The atmosphere was really nice at this restaurant, but we were very disappointed in the customer service. Most of the food was good but my brother-in-law's salmon was not fresh and tasted very fishy, something I have heard from many of our friends in the restaurant business is a no-no. If seafood tastes or smells fishy, it is not right. We complained to our waitress who was very sweet, but another waitress brought it back, dropped it on the table in front of us, and said "there's nothing wrong with it. The owner bought the fish this morning." My husband asked to speak to the owner who proceeded to tell us it was insulting for us to say the fish wasn't fresh and that "fish is supposed to taste like fish, not chicken, veal, or anything else." I was surprised in this poor economy that a business owner would place so little value on his customers. ...read more
