Allstate Insurance agent fined November 25, 2014 ALLSTATE AGENT EDWARD BRYS FINED $1,000.00 BY NEW YORK STATE INSURANCE DEPT. A big thanks to all that have come forward with information that has contributed to Mr. Brys being held accountable by ALLSTATE&New; York state. The New York state Insurance Department fined ($1,000.00)&compelled Edward Brys to pen a letter of apology to myself & to policy holders for statements he & his staff have made. The supporting documents are available upon request. In their words, NEW YORK STATE, found that; Mr. Brys demonstrated “..Untrustworthiness” and “Incompetence..” Here, in part, are Edward Brys’s apologys; “Dear Mr. Zapp I would like to personally apologize for any prior statements that have been written or verbalized by either myself or my agency staff…I have made it a priority to be aware of the contents of all statements being sent from my agency going forward to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. …. in speaking with the NEW YORK STATE INSURANCE DEPARTMENT, they stated that there were no complaints on record for Mr. Zapp, nor were they monitoring him. In addition, I do not have the knowledge of the reason why Mr. Zapp ended his affiliation with Allstate. Please use this e-mail as my apology to you for initially providing you inaccurate information. Sincerely Edward J. Brys” __________________________________________ When I decided to part ways w/Allstate is was because we wanted to have access to a variety of carriers, which we now do. The “Exclusive Allstate agent” program does not allow this. Any other reason given is & has been proven to be erroneous. I enjoy a complaint free record with the New York state Insurance department. Despite the, documented, libelous attempts by Edward Brys, I have brought back to my “independent” agency nearly 45% of my customers that I brought to Allstate as a top performing, & highly decorated agent. It's not automatically covered under your homeowners policy. It is an add on coverage. Allstate offers one of lowest coverage levels there is, ONLY $5,000.00 Conversely, Liberty Mutual offers what has to be one of the very worst forms for this coverage. for $26.00 you get, $10,000 for ONLY ITEMS ATTACHED TO THE HOUSE (i.e. wall to wall carpeting, furnace, water heater) If it is not attached.....It's NOT Covered! (I.e. your couch, tv, chair, box of toys, etc.) There is a $1,000.00 deductible that applies.The carriers we work with offer as much as $50,000 for this coverage. ...read more
