Mr. Riverso is not the first person to complain about Lloyd. Lloyd was a friend of the owner so he was hired to answer the phones and do simple lockouts. What we found out from customers like Mr. Riverso is that Lloyd was working more for Lloyd than Dutchess Lock. Lloyd committed some pretty dastardly acts which, we acknowledge, turned some customers like Mr. Riverso into victims. Needless to say, Lloyd is no longer a part of our organization and we cringe when we hear his name. We are reviled by his borderline criminal acts and try to reconcile with customers whom he has cheated. If you or anyone you know has been defrauded or victimized by Lloyd Ellis during his tenure or in his capacity with Dutchess Locksmith Service, please let us know by calling (845) 471-0715. Please provideus with what ever documentation you have and we will try our best to make it right. We've been in business since 1975 and we certainly didn't get here using the Lloyd Ellis business plan. ...read more

Lloyd came to my house around the middle of feb 2012 to change some locks after my divorce. He quoted me one price and tried to charge me more after the work was done. the keys didnt work well in one of hte locks. when his cell phone rang he said he had an emergency and he would be back but he left with the money and never came back. I just read the post by Dutchess Locksmith and I called them a little while ago - about 11:30 at night and a real person - not an answering service - answered the phone. He said that they were aware of problems with Lloyd. I told him that I was still having problems and he told me that somebody would be out to my house tomorrow to straightem out the problem. I asked how much he was going to charge me to fix the problem and he told me that I already paid. Apparently they didnt' know that Lloyd even did this job. I guess he was even stealing money from them too. But they promised to make this right and thats good enough for me. ...read more

my son lost his key to a cabinet so lloyd (supposed locksmith) said he could open the cabinet and get us a new key made for "about $75. WHAT WE DIDN'T KNOW WAS THAT OPEN MEANT BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE. he pryed the door and bent the bolt and got the door open-something i could have done -w/o paying somebody the $100 he demanded. he took the lock and claimed he would have us keys or a replacement lock in 2 days. it has been about 10 weeks and we are still waiting. he has promised to be back at least 8 times and just doesn't show up. this guy just doesn't deserve to be in business and should be run "outta town"! ...read more
