Steve was recommended to me by a friend 8 years ago and I used him to install brand new wood floors in my co-op. He did an awesome job and the floors came out gorgeous! Steve takes a lot of pride in his work. When my husband and I moved into our home, we called him back to re-finish the floors and he is back again with us to re-finish other rooms. I received a referral for Ed through a family member to refinish my bathroom. After giving the estimate he delayed for 4 weeks before starting the job. After telling us it would take 3 days for the job he then takes almost two weeks. There were 3 days when he didn't even show up. I found out from his son the reason I was left high and dry with no working shower was because Ed was out fishing. Further he was disrespectful throughout his time in my home and, although he had us purchase most of the supplies ourselves, refused to give us any guidance on our home depot runs. On top of this his son damaged pipes while removing the old tub and they even tried to tack on additional cost for this to the original estimate! I later spoke with a long time family friend who is also in the industry and has worked with Ed before and he told me it was a shame I hadn't discussed this with him before as he would have steered me far away from Ed and the mess that came with him. ...read more
