Summer Fruits and Their Health Benefits

Fruit is healthy for the body. It is full of the vitamins and minerals that the body needs. On top of that, it makes a refreshing snack or dessert during the summer. There are many different types of summer fruits to try and they work well with meringues, cream and yogurt to make delicious dishes. Here are some fruits to try. Strawberries Strawberries are very popular in Britain during the summer but are great anywhere in the world. Many people associate strawberries with Wimbledon tennis and tea, especially when thinking about the United Kingdom. They are an excellent source of vitamin C to help boost the immune system and, like most berries, are full of antioxidants, which helps to fight the free radicals and makes sure the cells remain healthy. Blueberries The next fruit on the list is the blueberry. These are excellent whether on their own as a snack, as part of a mixed fruit salad for dessert or even in healthy muffins for breakfast. Blueberries are the best summer fruit when it comes to antioxidants and are linked to lowering the risk of developing some age-related diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Cranberries Cranberries work as part of a stuffing or as a drink. They can be eaten raw but they tend to have a bitter taste and are hard to bite. The best thing is that cranberries are full of health benefits for women. They are full of antibacterial properties and help to fight off urinary tract infections Cherries   These can definitely be eaten fresh and this is the best way to get all the health benefits. Try a few chopped cherries in a fruit salad with some yogurt or just have a handful as a snack during the day. Like many other summer fruits, they are full of antioxidants. If you don’t mind eating sour cherries, these are especially beneficial to the health with more vitamin C than regular cherries. Peaches There are some fruits that are common around the year but are popular during the summer and peaches are one of them. The furry fruit is great in pies and crumbles, especially mixed with apricots and apples. Peaches have a lot of vitamin A in them, which helps with regulating the immune system so that the body is able to fight infections effectively. Pineapples   While it is quite sour, it is also sweet and juicy. Pineapples are great whether you eat them fresh, opt for canned ones or cook them in crumbles or cakes. They help with the flow of blood and prevent clots forming because of the Bromelain in them. They also help to lower the risk of cancer.   Bananas Yes, bananas are available all year round but they are grown in hot places. Bananas are delicious on their own, mashed on toast or mixed in with fruit salads for a delicious dessert. They are also full of potassium. Potassium is needed by the body to make sure it has enough energy and it can help with regulating the blood pressure. Avoid eating too many during the day though as you can get too much of the good stuff!   ...read more

Then, take that carrot and stick it to the top of the apple. 2.) Stick toothpicks throughout the apple and carrot. 3.) Add fruits to the end of the toothpicks and build your tree. 4.) Cover your plate with cilantro leaves as it will act as grass garnish 5.) Take a star shaped cookie cutter to cut out a star shape from a cantaloupe and place it on top of the fruit tree. 6.)
