Silver Bear Swim School

5.0

By Calyk1d1 at Citysearch

My family has nothing but the best experience at Silver Bear. The owners and teachers both are friendly and caring people who work great with each of the kids. I would recommend this school to anyone wanting a positive experience. I have put both my kids through the program starting at age 2 and couldn't be happier. Thanks Silver Bear! ...read more

Silver Bear Swim School

T owners are not only rude, but they are too quick to defend their staff and safety measures. In fact, they are quick to place the blame on the child! The lifeguards do not (well at least one in particular) watch the children on the wall. This neglect almost cost me my son’s life when he slipped and fell into the pool. NO ONE was watching. During the lesson, my son (who is an early four year old) reached down for a toy and slipped into the pool. I jumped up wondering why no was going in after him. I was stuck behind a glass window wall with six people and their stuff next to me. Luckily, the instructor was turning around with another student and saw him. Instead of making a big scene (which I now wish I had), I, shaking and in tears, walked up to the receptionist and asked for the owners to call me. The owners were not good at sympathizing, apologetic, communicating, and problem solving. The immediate response was to defend their staff and safety measures. In the s ...read more

Adult Swim Lessons

If you have always wanted to learn how to swim or would like to brush up on your strokes, now is the time!  Reno Swim has noticed the demand for Adult lessons in the area and has responded by adding several Adult Group and Adult Semi-Private classes to the schedule. Adult classes are taught at seperate times from the children's program, so no need to feel uncomfortable with little kids splashing around you.  Our twice per week schedule offers classes on Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs at 8am, 830am, 12pm, 1230pm, 8pm and 830pm.  The once per week schedule on Saturdays offers classes at 2pm, 230pm, 3pm, 330pm, 4pm, 430pm Everyone should learn to swim and the great thing with swimming, is that it is NEVER to late to learn!  For example: The first person I ever taught how to swim was an 89 year old man who had almost drown when he was 6.  He had not been in the water since, even taking a bath was terrifing.  On the first day, he sat on the edge of the pool with his feet in the water and we just talked about everything but swimming.  By the end of the summer he was swimming across the pool! Swimming is a great way to exercise and relax.  Many adults miss out on all the fun water activities because they feel its too late to learn or are to embarressed.  Don't miss out any longer, sign up today! ...read more
