Regardless of whether you are in a relationship or not, it is still a time of financial expectations - office parties, giving gifts to family and friends, holiday gathers with friends, and so on. Here are five tips for couples to take the stress out of holiday spending: · Cook together at home once a week. Create food from scratch and share the steps from start to finish, prepping to cleaning. If you each have “normal” roles in the kitchen – he does the “manly meat” and you do the veggies plan to switch it up so you each can broaden your skills. · Don’t always go out for date night – plan a fun night in. If you want something fun plan a Wii challenge and make a wager between the two of you. If you’re looking for something social, invite friends over for a potluck or do a progressive dinner. · Make a budget and track it. Use an app on your phone or a spreadsheet on the fridge – just make sure you record what you’re spending.
