I have been going to the Wikler Family Practice for over 10 years. I see Linda Rosenberg who is very caring and takes as much time as necessary to explain everything. The office staff especially her nurse calls back the same day. A patient does not have to good there and pay a doctor visit to get routine blood test orders. The nurse send them and when the test are completed I go and Linda goes over them with me. The front desk staff has been very professional. I have gone to many doctors in my life and these are the best. ...read more

If I could give no stars I would. I've been going to Wikler for nearly 15 years. No matter what the nurses never seemed to have their files in order and it's full proof that no matter what time you make your appointment you'll be waiting around for a half an hour to get in.\t\n\t\nI didn't realize how awful it was until I had a "medical mystery" going on with my body. I would have severe pain which spiked with eating. Dr Neughart is an egghead (I only saw him once) believed I had a broken rib and IBS and a bladder infection(which none were true). After dealing with them for several months in and out each week for several different symtoms "shizz" his the fan especially with "Dr." Linda Rosenberg. \t\n\t\nDuring one of the first visits she suggested I exercise. When being in chronic pain it makes it rather difficult to work out even though I used to consistently. My personal opinion is she may be bulimic or anorexic and focused on being skinny. My BMI is below what it should be already but since getting sick it's cause a massive amount of weight gain. \t\n\t\nShe suggested we went to a few specialists which I did but I wanted more done. I would request blood work and stool samples and other tests since no one else was asking questions. And every time I seemed to ask a question it was as if I was a bother. I couldn't help if I was in pain but no one could come up with a reason why.\t\n\t\nDuring one of the time I had asked for a stool test I was hung up on. After calling back Linda Rosenbergs personal nurse told me they could no longer assist me and hung up. \t\n\t\nAfter seeing Linda twice more after this she wanted to put me on antidepressants and then to get my psychological state evaluated. You'd think after seeing me for 15 years she'd see my file and know I wouldn't make it up.\t\n\t\nTurns out I had a minimally enlarged spleen (don't even get me started on the normal range of tests) and I wasn't making pepsin or hydrochlorate mixed with a thyroid issue.\t\n\t\nFunny how they can't fix that in a mental hospital. Only go to Linda if you want to be treated like a mental patient. ...read more

Transforming Tracheal Collapse in Chihuahuas – Chops’s success story!

Five months ago, we had never heard the term tracheal collapse. Since that time, our six pound Chihuahua, Chops, experienced a 98% improvement from this disease. Chops was coughing and wheezing … his overall health was deteriorating. He had lots of energy and his life-force was high, but he was struggling. Initially, years ago, his veterinarian at the time diagnosed his problem as allergies. Later, another veterinarian said he had a symptom called reverse sneezing. A year later, another veterinarian thought Chop’s problem stemmed from his vaccination history, and started him on a detox program. Finally, after his condition worsened, the last diagnosis to Chop’s dilemma indicated he was suffering from tracheal collapse. According to the American College of Veterinarian Surgeons, tracheal collapse is a chronic, progressive, irreversible disease of the trachea, or windpipe, and lower airways (main stem bronchi collapse). The trachea is a flexible tube and, similar to a vacuum cleaner hose. It has small rings of cartilage that help keep the airway open when the dog is breathing, moving or coughing. The rings of cartilage are C-shaped, with the open part of the C facing upward. In some dogs, the C-shaped cartilage becomes weak and begins to flatten out. As the roof of the trachea stretches, the cartilage rings get flatter and flatter until the trachea collapses. The collapse can extend all the way into the bronchi (the tubes that feed air into the lungs), resulting in severe airway compromise in your pet. If you look in the blog section, attached is a full description of tracheal collapse by the American College of Veterinarian Surgeons. By the time Chops was evaluated, approximately 40% of his trachea had collapsed. I attached a video taken during the worst stretch of this problem. You can hear him struggling for air as he went on one of his daily walks. (I then attached a follow-up video a couple of months later, after I had confirmation from his veterinarian of his progress.) About three months prior to the video where Chops began walking again without wheezing, Alan and his wife Joy began giving him Life-force blessings. Alan and Joy had been studying this procedure since 2010, and realized that this was the time to begin to treat Chops. At the same time, his veterinarian prescribed a cartilage boosting supplement in hopes of thickening and strengthening his trachea, along with some dietary changes to Chop’s eating habits. Chops had his first follow-up evaluation one month later and his veterinarian said it appeared that the degeneration had stopped and his overall cartilage condition was indicating approximately a 10% improvement. According to her diagnosis, this was significant and not very typical after such a short time span. Alan and Joy continued the Life-force blessings and reached out to other colleagues who were also studying on this same program. He found nine additional practitioners willing to work with Chops and administer Life-force blessings on a remote basis from all around the United States. In total, Chops now had ten individuals administering these blessings to him on a daily basis. His second follow-up was exactly one month following his first evaluation. This time, his veterinarian estimated his overall improvement to be 60%. She also tested the percentage of his trachea that was collapsed and found that to only be 30% collapsed, which was down from her original finding of 40% one month earlier. The only way to express the significance of this evaluation is to go back to the American College of Veterinarian Surgeons definition to understand that trachea collapse is considered by the veterinarian profession to be an irreversible disease with no known cure. Chops had his third follow-up with his veterinarian, one month after his last evaluation. The latest estimated overall level improvement in his cartilage consistency was 90%. The percentage of his trachea that was collapsed as of April 16, 2018 was slightly less than 20%. Success continued with the fourth follow-up visit too. Again, after another month, on May 16, 2018, the overall cartilage consistency improved to 98% and the percentage of his trachea that was collapsed was approximately 9%, down from slightly less than 20% one month earlier. ...read more

Tracheal Collapse in Animals

Tracheal collapse is a chronic, progressive, irreversible disease of the trachea, or windpipe, and lower airways (mainstem bronchi collapse). Small breed dogs are most commonly affected with the disease, particularly Yorkshire terriers, Pomeranians, Poodles and Chihuahuas. Affected dogs are often middle aged or older, though it can be seen in some young dogs as well. Dogs that are overweight or that live in a household with smokers may be more at risk or at least more likely to show clinical signs. Signs and Symptoms: harsh dry cough that sounds like a goose honking coughing when picked up or if someone pulls on their collar difficulty breathing exercise intolerance coughing or turning blue when excited fainting wheezy noise when they breathe inward Diagnostics: In general, the following tests are recommended to diagnose the degree of collapse, provide a clear picture of overall health and evaluate your pet: bloodwork to look at overall health chest x-rays (Figure 2, 3) may help with the diagnosis in some pets, and are useful for ruling out other conditions and looking at the size of the heart. Tracheal collapse is not always visible on regular x-rays. fluoroscopy (a moving x-ray) ̶ this will allow a check of the condition of your dog’s trachea when he/she is breathing in and out (Figure 4). This is important since the size of the trachea can change depending on if your dog is breathing in or out. endoscopy (viewing the inside of the trachea with a fiber optic camera) provides the best detail of the inside of the airway (Figure 5) and allows your veterinarian to take fluid samples for culture and analysis echocardiogram   Medical Management Medical management includes: weight loss medications to reduce airway spasms and inflammation sedation to reduce coughing and anxiety Some dogs may require heavy doses of sedation to break the coughing cycle, since coughing will irritate the airway and lead to more coughing. Additionally, dogs should be kept away from smoke and other environmental pollution (coughing may be even stimulated by smoke or other irritants brought in on clothing and hair). Dogs with infections are treated with antibiotics. Medical management may work for up to 70% of dogs, particularly those that have mild collapse. As the disease progresses, some pets do not respond to medical management, and require surgical or interventional treatment. Medical management will need to be continued for life, even after other interventions.   Surgical Management Collapse of the trachea in the neck may be treated by an ACVS board-certified veterinary surgeon surgically placing plastic rings (Figure 6, Figure 7) or spirals around the outside of the trachea. Tracheal collapse may also be treated by placing a stent ̶ a spring like device ̶ inside the airway to hold the trachea open (Figure 8). Stents allow treatment of tracheal collapse in the neck or within the chest without a surgical incision. Most pets are discharged 1–2 days after surgery. They are usually returned for recheck and removal of skin sutures or staples (if present). Pain can be well-controlled with owner-administered medications. Recommendations following ring or stent placement include: continued medical management with medications to decrease pain, swelling, coughing and excitement use of a body harness (not a neck lead or leash) limited activity for about two weeks to allow recovery and incision healing weight loss avoiding exposure to smoke or other airway irritants use of a humidifier in the winter when heaters are used regular follow-up examinations by your primary care veterinarian Post-treatment complications can include: Surgery to place rings around the trachea may result in coughing, bleeding, airway damage, or paralysis of the larynx. Dogs that have a paralyzed larynx may require emergency surgery to tie open the airway or to temporarily allow breathing through a hole in the neck (“tracheostomy”), and some may die immediately after surgery. Many dogs will continue to cough for the rest of their lives, though the cough is usually milder than before treatment. Some dogs will continue to have clinical signs if collapse of the airway progresses into the smaller airways (bronchial collapse). Stents placed in the airway can also contribute to irritation and coughing. If enough inflammation occurs, the dogs can develop thick tissue in front of or behind the stent that blocks part of the airway (Figure 9). Stents that span the thoracic inlet, where the trachea enters the chest, are at risk of breaking due to movement of this area (Figure 10). Stents that are too small can move within the trachea. At this time there is no known prevention for tracheal collapse, although reducing weight or exposure to airway irritants such as smoke may help. About 70% of dogs that are treated with medical management alone will show some improvement. About 75% of dogs improve after surgical placement of rings. Dogs that are older than 6 years of age or that have laryngeal or bronchial disease have more complications and a poorer long-term outcome. Of dogs that receive stents, 95% are immediately improved and 90% are markedly improved on their follow-up visit. Similar results are reported with rings placed in the cervical (neck) region of the trachea. Control of coughing is important for a good outcome, and dogs with bronchial collapse (and therefore continued coughing) are much more likely to have problems after stent or ring placement. ...read more

Energy Healing: A Brief Guide

Energy Healing: A Brief Guide My wife Joy has published an energy healing guide that discusses subtleenergy healing… I’ve taken the most of the information from the article and included it here in this post. Energy healing is a holistic practice that activates the body’s subtle energy systems to remove blocks. By breaking through these energetic blocks, the body’s inherent ability to heal itself is stimulated. Ancient cultures had their own form of energy healing. These time-tested traditions understood the flow of energy throughout our bodies and its importance in our health and wellbeing. Chinese Meridians and Acupuncture Traditional Chinese Medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as chi or qi (chee) — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. Each meridian is associated with a different organ system. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine there are over 1000 acupuncture points in our bodies. Acupuncture has been found to treat a number of mental ailments like depression, anxiety, and negative moods. It has also had a positive impact on deeper physical issues like digestive problems and chronic pain. As with any treatment, acupuncture does pose some risks, the most common being pain and bleeding from the insertion of acupuncture needles. Other adverse effects can include skin rashes, allergic reactions, bruising, pain, bleeding, nausea, dizziness, fainting, or infections. Reiki An ancient Japanese healing art, Reiki is based on the idea of the flowing life force known in Japanese as ki. The practice was developed to help people realize the importance of making an intentional effort to heal and be conscious of their health. This concept of self-improvement and self-discipline, is part of the foundation of the Japanese culture. Lifestyle principals include; Be grateful Work diligently Be kind to others Don’t worry Don’t become angry Rei, means God’s wisdom, that unseen life force that flows between us, that can be channeled and used for beneficial means. Chakra Balancing An ancient Indian Healing modality that uses prana to balance the seven major chakra centers. The seven chakras are as follows: Muladhara or root chakra: base of spine (tailbone) Swadhisthana or sacral chakra: two inches below the navel Manipura or solar plexus chakra: three inches above navel Anahata or heart chakra: located at heart Vishuddhi or throat chakra: located at throat Sahasrara or third eye: center of forehead/middle of eyebrows Brahmarandhra or crown chakra: top of head The location of the chakra determines its basic function. For example the Manipura or solar plexus chakra is the energy center responsible for personal power, self-esteem and confidence. Distance Healing Distance healing is the modality we incorporate into our programs.Distance healing, as its name implies works over time and space. You do not have to be physically present to benefit from these life force energy transmissions. This concept can be a stretch for many, so I enlisted the assistance of science and scientific testing to prove that distant healing can be possible and effective. I have eleven published papers on the efficacy of remote energy transmissions. Although they all deal with different aspects of science, they all prove that distance healing works. In my first paper the energy transmission was sent to a herbomineral formulation and to individual rats. The distance between myself and the rats was over 7000 miles. In both cases biomarkers were significantly improved indicating life force energy may be used for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, stress management and prevention, and anti-aging by improving overall health. The next experiment was designed to investigate the effect of the life force energy blessing, or the Trivedi Effect®, on the structural properties of Ashwagandha root. The findings concluded that the Bio-field Energy healing treatment has a significant effect on the relative concentration of phyto-constituents without affecting their structural properties. This research indicates that these Life force energy transmissions could be useful in improving bioavailability of Ashwagandha as well as providing a better therapeutic response against inflammation and immunological disorders, stress, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, sexual disorders, aging as well as other chronic infections. In another study, long term storage stability of the Ashwagandha root was improved. In another experiment, sodium selenate was treated, resulting in a product that was more soluble, bioavailable, and thermally stable than the untreated sodium selenite. Hence, bio-field energy treated sodium selenate would be very useful to design better nutraceutical or pharmaceutical formulations that might offer a better therapeutic response for various stress related diseases like insomnia, anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, mental restlessness, brain fog, low libido, lack of motivation, fear from the future, and panic attacks. These energy transmissions could also be helpful in inflammatory diseases and immunological disorders like lupus, Hashimoto thyroiditis, asthma and much more. Another set of experiments researched bio-field treated Vitamin D3 and the impact upon bone mineralization. The Trivedi Effect treated Vitamin D3 significantly improved bone health parameters. The results indicated that bio-field treated Vitamin D3 could be a powerful alternative nutraceutical supplement to combat Vitamin D3 deficiency. This alternative could become a significant ally in the fight against various bone related problems, including rickets, osteo-malacia, osteoporosis, low bone density, bone stress management and prevention, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, and anti-aging by improving overall health. The Trivedi Effect® The Trivedi Effect® founded by Guruji Mahendra Trivedi, is the transformation and potentization of living and nonliving things. Through the Trivedi Effect, everything is transformed in order to serve a better and higher purpose and function at its greatest potential. 1 The Trivedi Effect is not a technique. It is a gift from the Divine, that allows the life force to flow through my physiology to the recipient. It is possible to experience the benefits of this technology today. Anyone can go to my website and sign up for a Life-force Energy Blessing. ...read more
