I stopped in thinking I'd have to leave my borken suitcase and wait a week or so. Joel quickly got the zipper unstuck and explained the cost advantages of repairing over replacing the zipper. He repaired the suitcase while I waited so now the handle extends and I can zip it shut. When I asked how much he just smiled and said "a couple of dollars is fine". I had no cash and could not leave without paying for his time and expertise. He just smiled when I said I'd be back. I did go back with fair payment. And I will continue bringing all repairs to his shop - and I travel a lot so I need luggage repair frequently. ...read more

After having read the only other review of this wonderful little shop, I felt compelled to counter the previous costumer's experience with my own. The first time I visited the store was to have my favorite, expensive leather tote repaired. Not only was I surprised with how quickly Joel Grieshaber (the owner) was able to repair it, but how affordable the repair price was. Once you step foot into the store, it is obvious that experience and friendly service has kept this shop in business. Minimum service fees are clearly displayed and if desired, a customer can have their repair "rushed" for a mere $5. The second time I needed a bag repaired, Joel repaired the item in front of me allowing me to avoid a second trip to the store to pick up the bag. He also showed me how to fix the zipper if a similar problem were to happen again.
