My mother had a smoke problem in coffee pot grounds smoldered. No damage was done and the response by the management was fast to correct this incident. Another incident involved a screen falling out of the window. The screen was reparred and we paid for it. These incidents were minor, corrected and we moved on. overall this is a great place to live for seniors. Clean and secure the managemet and the building manager, ED are very helpful efficient. There was another incident -- my aunt burnt some coffee and the fire alarm went off. She was chastised by the maintenance man mentioned above and was told not to use her stove again or else she would be "thrown out" (her words). Two months later she had fallen down and was unable to get up. She called me on the phone (I'm 40 miles away) and was afraid to call for help because she didn't want to get into trouble with Ed and be thrown out. I tried to call Shepard's Farm to get her some assistance but reached an unworking number. 411 did not list a working number. Several other calls to GlouCo senior services finally yielded the current working number -- 856-848-4913. ...read more

The maintenance man, Ed, showed up before I could go down and retrieve the screen and refit it and began to yell that I broke it and had to pay for it. He picked it up off the ground -- it was still in one piece -- and folded it in half and continued on about he had just put those screens in last week and now I have to pay for that. I noticed other screen on the ground outside as well that had fallen out. Should tenants pay for improperly installed items? ...read more
