Both Marvin exterior doors and windows have a protective aluminum cladding. This anodizing process places the aluminum in a chemically stable and non-toxic bath. An electric current is passed through the bath, causing the surface of the aluminum to oxidize and form a stronger coating than the original surface of the aluminum. Additional processing can add color to anodized aluminum ranging from bronze tones to black.
