I have been going to the Big Dipper for 55 years. First with my Gramma and later with my grandkids. As always the ice cream cones are the best licks in town and the lobster rolls are yummier than a roll in the hay. Last summer we drove eighty miles out of our way just to sample them once more. The Big Dipper is a small take-out style ice cream stand and 'restaurant' that has sooo much potential it makes me sad to write this review. The atmosphere is pretty good (although parking is a bit of an issue) with a nice little playground for the kids to play on before or after their ice cream or meal. The food was awful, fake nacho cheese sauce for the cheese on the cheese burgers, the "gourmet hot dogs" were tough and had a bad taste to go along with it. About the only good thing was the french fries. Also be forewarned their menu friendly states "once an item leaves the window it WILL NOT be replaced if it falls on the ground," and "if you would like your order to go then ask BEFORE you place your order. We will NOT repackage the order if you do not ask up front." Take your money, go to any fast food (or ice cream) place except this one and you'll get better service, better food and probably will spend less money.
