Marty the owner showed up on time, worked hard and came up with innovative solutions to our problem. We live in an old house and he was facing unique challenges. When he was done not only were we ready for a power outage but we also felt more secure about our wiring to the main panels. His prices were hundreds below what others had submitted, his work ethic was above par and he kept us informed of what he was doing every step of the way. When our gas provider fell through on their ability to hook up the generator to the fuel supply he contacted the one he usually works with and they came in, did the job for almost 200 dollars less and completed it in a timely manner. The weather over the last several years has been dramatic at times. If you've been thinking about some type of generator to protect you family&possessions; here are few key things to know.You will find thatportable generatorsystem will be the least costly means for back up power. Portable systems do require a bit of manual effort to get started and to maintain during operation. Your only legal/approved options for connecting a portable generator to your homes electrical system is either thru a transfer switch box or an interlock handle installed at your main panel. I recommend this type of system to younger folks that wouldn't have difficulty with the manual aspects of operation, that tend to be encountered during stormy weather. Permanently installedstandby generatorsystems will tend to be more expensive but are completely automatic. The most popular models run on gaseous type fuel so it is a big plus if you already have propane or natural gas service at your home or place of business. Regular maintenance can range from 1 to 2 year intervals depending on make/model. I recommend standby generator systems to older folks or families who may have difficulty starting and maintaining a generator system during and outage.
