This company has shown me just how dishonest and shady the contractor industry can be. As a college student I worked for Nick at Groundscapes on their summer projects for a few weeks before returning to school this fall. My first check bounced and I was assured for weeks that things would be taken care of. Finally I was able to receive most of what was owed to me, but they took several "fees" out of each of my checks, and now will not return my calls or emails for the last several weeks. I just want to warn anyone considered dealing with this company that anyone who is dishonest with their employees is certainly doing the same to their clients. We first hired Penton's for lawn care a few years back in 2005 and have used them exclusively since then. In 2009 and 2010 we hired them also for different landscape projects and have been completely satisfied with the service that John, Derek, and their employees provide.
