Don't let flu season effect you with these natural remedies

We all have our daily schedules and routines and a cold is a plans enemy. Taking good care of yourself helps reduce your chances of catching this annoying virus. Your remedies should already be in your healthy eating habits and if not it is a healthy decision to add herbs and spices and root vegetables to your everyday meals. Yup, some of the fastest and potent remedies are right at your grocery store. Having a regular routine will slim your chances of becoming under the weather, and even if so... with heavier doses it will have you back on your feet in no time. Over the counter medicines often include things in there ingredients that is no beneficial to you. I would not suggest cold medicine knowing in recent study, the only thing it does is reduce the symptoms of a cold/flue virus by the length of a half a day, so a normal cold is 7 days to 6 1/2 days and side effects may occur. Most cold medicines include antibiotics which are useless because cold/flu is a virus, not a bacteria. Now I must admit! the natural way does mess with your taste buds! (not so tasty at all!) and it does take some getting use to... it's just about the same as cooking, having the right ingredients and preparing it, but it's well worth it.  For a tea recipe, I do recommend making your own. What I do is use a tea pot and add different herbs and spices into the filter, such as: chamomile that is good for chest colds; ginger that is a natural antiviral, it contains antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties which boost your immune system and help you sweat; lemon helps reduce the phlegm and the strength of the virus and it helps you sleep; cayenne pepper, which aids in nasal and sinus congestion making mucous thin and a runny liquid allowing you to breath easier and also sweat; sage helps remove the bitters from your tea, helps reduce swelling in your lymph nodes, and helps remove phlegm; raw honey of course should be added in replace of any kind of sugar, try to use as little as possible but it is okay to reduce the bitter as much as you like, it also helps boost the immune system and helps the body fight colds faster. AND REMEMBER, do not give honey to a child under 1 years old for their digestive systems are not yet mature enough to move what's called Clostridium bacteria spores through the body, which can cause harm. Eating raw herbs and root vegetables is going to be your #1 defense, such as arrowleaf balsam root that relieves cough; garlic, eating one full clove every 3 - 4 hours helps relieve the pain a chest cold can cause, it helps reduce cough and if taken properly your cold will be gone in a day or two; echinacea helps fight off germs, and increases the number of white blood cells that fight infection; onions can actually absorb bacteria and viruses, helps reduce fever and helps the body release toxins. And I say this again... yes, you must eat it raw! and again... not good for the taste buds, but you'll get use to it. You can also add honey to your dose. place a clove of garlic on a tablespoon and pour honey over it till it fills the spoon and you can even eat a piece of lemon right after to mask the taste as well. So by eating these herbs, spices and root vegetables and some other live foods everyday will change how often you become sick. Incorporating a healthy eating plan into your everyday lifestyle will not only benefit you health wise but also gives you longevity. The herb everyone is buzzing about, Moringa!

One of the best herbs to take as a vitamin or supplement is Moringa oleifera which is the most utilized out of at least a dozen varieties of the Moringa tree. It is a plant native to the sub-Himalayan areas of Africa, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, also known in tropic areas as well. This plant is used to make natural medicine. The entire plant, leaves, bark, flower, seeds, and root. The leaves retain lots of vitamins, potassium, proteins, and minerals. Gram per gram in nutrients, Moringa equal 2 times the protein of yogurt, 4 times the Vitamin A of carrots, 3 times the potassium of bananas, 4 times the calcium of milk, 7 times the vitamin C of oranges, and 25 times the iron in spinach. Some of it's great benefits helps boost the immune system (especially during pregnancy), and it increases the breast milk production. It is also used for anemia, arthritis/carpal tunnel, joint pain, asthma, constipation, stomach pain, diabetes, intestinal ulcers, headaches, heart problems, liver disease, high blood pressure, kidney stones, thyroid disorder, epilepsy, fungal, viral, bacterial, yeast, and parasitic infections, balances hormones naturally, Yes! amazing right! Also, you can also use Moringa oil and apply it directly to the skin to kill germs, an astringent, treating skin infections, and even dandruff, acne, athletes foot, gingivitis, snakebites, and even cuts as well as in your foods, drinks, such as a hot cup of tea or a nice smoothie, and like my products, use bath products with Moringa in its ingredients. So start growing your Moringa Oleifera along with some other useful plants such as the aloe and cactus plant for your natural medicinal remedy. Happy Growing! #loveurskin #naturallyyou #NDB ...read more
