CPR Cell Phone Repair Billings 24th St
By NancyCunningham April 23, 2013
These guys did a great job fixing my broken cell phone! My iPhone screen was cracked, and they repaired it real fast. They even delivered it back to me the same day at my house, so I was impressed by that. I checked around several places in the Billings, MT area and they quoted me the lowest price. When I went in they were working on a guy's iPad and I just got the feeling they were very friendly and overall I will definitely go back. Well hopefully not, since that would mean I've broken something else lol but you know what I mean! ...read more
Kbs Computer Solutions Inc
By Jack December 08, 2010
The owner of this company is not to be trusted! He sold me some computer monitors that he said were "refurbished," but were actually junk that he got for free from a business that was dumping them; he just cleaned them up a bit and sold them at 100% profit!! I was quite angry when I was informed of this from a former KBS employee, and I wasn't at all surprised when two of the three monitors died within a couple weeks of purchase. No warranty, of course! James Knox is nothing but a crook. DO NOT patronize his business. You're better off with Best Buy or Beartooth Computers. ...read more

Computer Repairs
Why is My Computer So Slow? We all love our computers. We use them to compose letters, write articles, surf the web, play games, and watch movies. It is hard to imagine life without electronic gadgets in some way or another. And despite what people may say, there is nothing wrong with relying on technology as much as we do. But it can become frustrating, sometimes infuriating when our technology does not work the way we want it to, or worse when it does not work the way it is supposed to. Instead of throwing your computer out the window, as much fun as that may seem, follow these tips to see if you can remedy the problem yourself. If not, iDoctor is your computer repair specialists in Billings, Montana. We can fix Macs, PC’s, phones, tablets, game consoles and more. Update Your Windows Windows Update Restart You probably see that little popup every now and then that says you need to run a Windows update. Most people are guilty of being reminded in 4 hours, and then postponing indefinitely. If you are in the middle of something, you can postpone, but these are important updates to optimize your machine (and block malware), so run it as soon as possible. Delete Some Programs and Files Empty this regularly We all download and install programs, and once the novelty is over, we just leave them. If you haven’t used a program in a long time, and you likely won’t in the foreseeable future, delete it off your computer. You will free up some space and help your computer run faster. Not only that, but some programs are always running in the background (Skype is guilty of this). Deleting, or moving to a separate hard drive, videos, pictures, and other personal files will help as well. Install AdBlock AdBlock is a catch 22. On the one hand it will prevent unwanted ads and popups, but on the other hand it does eat up a lot of memory. Your computer may actually slow down because AdBlock is running. There are some sites that are loaded with ads, so you can turn AdBlock on when you know you’ll visit those sites. There are others that are mostly ad free, so you can disable AdBlock when using those ones. Or a better alternative is to simply have 2 browsers. Use Firefox with AdBlock installed for sites that have popups, and use Chrome without AdBlock for regular browsing. Cleanse any Malware Malware is the bane of the computer user’s existence. Most people mistake malware for viruses (although viruses are much more damaging). These little bugs are small program files that run on your computer. If you have never cleansed your computer of Malware, stop reading this (bookmark the page first of course) and download MalwareBytes. Run the program and get rid of all the bugs on your system (this could take a while, go make a sandwich and have a cup of coffee while it runs). Upgrade to Solid State The world of computers is constantly shifting. One of the big movements lately is having solid state drives that can hold incredible amounts of memory. Here’s the difference. The hard drive in your computer (whether it’s a laptop or desktop) functions by spinning a disk and writing onto that disk. If your laptop is running and you drop it, that disk gets out of whack and you may likely destroy your hard drive (and lose your files). A solid state drive, on the other hand, has no moving parts. These have been around for years (your thumb or flash drive is a solid state drive) but they have recently been optimized for full computer use. At iDoctor our computer repair specialists can upgrade your drive from traditional to solid state and speed your computer up significantly. Upgrade your RAM RAM, which stands for Random Access Memory, is temporary memory that your computer uses when running programs. Think of it this way: you have a big bookshelf that holds 1000 books. But you also have a night stand next to your bed that holds one or two books. The night stand is your RAM, the book shelf is your hard drive. While files are in use they are constantly writing files and working through your RAM in order to run. If your night stand is too small, the programs can’t work as fast as they could with more RAM. Clean Your Computer Sometimes you just need to open up your computer and clean out the dust. Have you ever popped open the side of your desktop and looked inside? If not, then it likely has a lot of buildup. Power everything down, and open the computer. Take it outside, and using canned air (the type usually reserved for spraying the junk out of your keyboard) lightly blow out the dust. Be careful because you might knock a cord loose, or worse break a solder. If that happens, you need to bring it in and have our computer repair techs fix it. iDoctor is Your Computer Repair Resource Slow computer, broken computer, or computer in need of optimization, we can get you back on track to using your device to its fullest potential. Try these methods, and if your computer is STILL too slow, it might be time to upgrade your PC or Mac. Bring it in and we can consult with you as to whether it will be cheaper to fix or upgrade, or if it will be a better use of your time and money to just buy something new (if that’s the case, we can transfer all of your old files over). iDoctor has 2 locations in Billings. 960 S. 24th St. W. Ste. B (by Dos Machos) on the West End, or 315 Main St. Ste. 200 (just past Airport Rd on the east side of the street) in the Heights. Come see us today! ...read more
