This is a scam. Dean Spasser does not have a "direct mail marketing business". He just mails out a bunch of junk about his own scam. He runs a work-from-home scam. Check his BBB rating. There is an article describing how the scam works. It's called envelope stuffing. They say it is an old scam. They also say that any info he happens to give you, you can get for free online. He will send you a booklet of phone numbers and names. Then he will try to sell you on the idea that you can help him rip off people by charging them $5 more to get scammed the same way that you just got scammed. It does not work for you, but it works for him. Don't help him rip people off. FYI "Dwayne" is Dean's search engine spammers at work. Search "Dean Spasser scam" and you get more accurate results. ...read more

Dean Spasser on Choosing the Best Product

So you want to start a business. Many aspiring entrepreneurs share your dream, but most face a singular dilemma, St. Louis’sDean Spassersays. What business should they start? It’s not an easy question, but it’s a question Dean Spasser hears from business clients regularly. The key to having a successful business, Dean Spasser advises, is not only how to run a business, but what business to run in the first place. For two decades, Dean Spasser has been working with companies on this very issue. As the owner of St. Louis’s American Publications, Dean Spasser has found that mail order businesses are popular with new business owners. Still, without a good product, your business cannot thrive, Dean Spasser says. “Mail order selling is an expensive way to sell a product, so only items that support a high markup are appropriate,” Dean Spasser says. Another important tool for mail order businesses is to keep the mailing costs reasonable. Large, bulky, weighty items can incur large shipping fees that many customers aren’t willing to pay. For this reason, it’s also important to pick a unique item for your mail order business, according to Dean Spasser. Branded items that can be found at the local discount department store aren’t successful via mail order because many consumers will want to see and touch the item at the dept. store and will also want to avoid shipping charges by purchasing locally. Advertising is another consideration, Dean Spasser says. Ask yourself, are there large media outlets in which to advertise this particular product? Take into consideration direct mailing plans. Check mailing list rental services to see if lists are available featuring those interested in this type of product, Dean Spasser says. Dean Spasser also advises taking your fulfillment center into consideration. Where will your items be stored? Will inventory cost be high? Planning for these things can make the difference between success and failure, Dean Spasser cautions. There are a few other things, says Dean Spasser, that business owners may forget to take into consideration. For example, products that rely on scent aren’t generally successful. If a customer can’t smell a perfume or cologne for example, he or she likely won’t want to buy it. Another item to avoid, according to St. Louis residentDean Spasser, is food. “Products like food can spoil have low profit margins and do not generally support mail order profits,” Dean Spasser concludes. ...read more

Dean Spasser Offers Valuable Resources to Direct Mail Market Clients

St. Louis Business Owner Dean Spasser Shares Tips for a Successful Direct Mail Campaign ST. LOUIS, Missouri – November 14, 2011 –Dean Spasser, owner of American Publications in St. Louis, has enjoyed significant success recently with his effort to assist businesses in finding success in the competitive direct mail market. With more than twenty years working with all aspects of direct mail marketing, St. Louis’ Dean Spasser brings a strong core knowledge regarding the power of direct mail to the table, and has several suggestions for businesses interested in speaking to consumers through their mailboxes. The most important element to a successful direct mail campaign, according to Dean Spasser, is to start small. Businesses should test market a direct mail idea before launching it wide, Dean Spasser stated. The St. Louis native recommends the purchase of a small, targeted mailing list initially. Once a business owner determines the initial responses, he or she can make any necessary adjustments and then slowly increase reach to include larger markets, reported Dean Spasser. Speaking from St. Louis, Dean Spasser also pointed to the downside of “too much too soon,” explaining that widespread, overbearing campaigns can seem too gimmicky. Starting with much smaller, targeted groups, noted Spasser, will lead customers to see a product as classier. This is a concept Dean Spasser has implemented in own company, founded as a St. Louis-based company and which eventually expanded nationwide. According to Dean Spasser, a new business owner should never focus all of his or her energy on direct mail, however. Every business in today’s marketplace needs a website, as well as a social media presence. The St. Louis businessman noted that before beginning a direct mail campaign, it is crucial to make sure these all-too-important marketing tools are in place and include links in all print material. Dean Spasser stated, “This is your chance to bring traffic to your website.” Furthermore, Spasser pointed out that creating an online presence often isn’t enough. He noted the importance of providing customers with a way to purchase products on a website. Creating an e-commerce site will not only give consumers information about your business, added Dean Spasser, it will allow them to make purchases conveniently and quickly. “Direct mailing brings them to you,” Dean Spasser reported, “and the website allows them to follow through with a purchase.” There are a few simple mistakes companies make when starting up a direct mail campaign, Dean Spasser noted. One of the primary mistakes, according to Dean Spasser, is biting off more than a business owner can “chew” financially. Starting a new business takes capital, stated Spasser, and many businesses underestimate just how much capital they’ll need. By starting small, a business can began bringing in revenue while still building, according to Dean Spasser. To avoid underestimating the cost of starting a business, work with or consult with an experienced entrepreneur to prepare for the inevitable unexpected developments, advised Spasser. “Even little things, such as the cost of paper and office supplies, need to be taken into account,” the St. Louis business owner says. St. Louis businessmanDean Spasserbuilt American Publications from the ground up. His business focuses on providing work-from-home information to the average American. Based in St. Louis, American Publications is now a well-established company, specializing in providing information on legitimate opportunities and helping those seeking self-employment avoid scams. A former commercial leasing agent, Dean Spasser has built his career on helping to match aspiring business owners with great opportunities.
