Sauk Centre is a part of the Steams County region/metro area of Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the population was 3,930 and the city has a land area of 3.7 miles. The town is known for the historic and supposedly haunted Palmer House Hotel, Restaurant, and Bar as well as being an inspiration for Sinclair Lewis for his novel Main Street. Famous persons from the city include Sinclair Lewis as well professor and author, Henry Johnson.
