They are a service company and provide a service to small businesses. You can file your own taxes to for free. Why hire an accountant to do this? It is a service and they charge a processing fee. They are at the State Offices every day. Not all people can take time from work to go drive there when ya live in the boondocks and are farming all day. They sent me an official looking letter with a form that had the MN Secretary of State seal on it saying I needed to file the document with them or my L.L.C. would be dissolved without further notice. I filled out the form and sent it back and they returned the form to me with a letter demanding $70 for the "annual renewal" and "statutory processing fees" and another $50 for "processing and reinstatement fees".
