We had a fantastic time at Thunderstik Lodge in SD! It was an amazingly beautiful place and the lodge and staff were fantastic! I was so excited to have a gun safety lesson from Carey and learned how to shoot a rifle! On my first try I was able to hit 2 out of 8 clay pigeons! We will definitely go back! ...read more

My family cannot say enough things about how Ben H helped us plan or family outdoors vacations at Thunderstik lodge. The staff and dogs were over the top. It was a family time of hunting, old school lodge fun, and dogs. Thank you Carey and Jill for all you did to make our stay amazing. ...read more

“SPRING BREAK WITH RECOIL” AT THUNDERSTIK LODGE
The 5-Day Hunting & Shooting Event for the Whole Family (Chamberlain, SD): Thunderstik Lodge is excited to again host Spring Break with Recoil—five days of family-friendly activity and adventure. It’s the perfect Spring Break getaway for the shooting family at South Dakota’s premier pheasant hunting lodge. The non-shooters aren’t left out, though, with plenty of activities available for them, too. Spring Break with Recoil (SBwR) will run through the entire month of March, 2018. Families can book the week their school district is on break. Special guests scheduled to be with us include: - Girls with Guns TV will be filming a program at SBwR March 18-22. - Todd Bender, 22-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist, will be working with guests March 25-29. Are there high school trap shooters in the family? SBwR makes an ideal “training camp” for trap enthusiasts to prepare for the competitive spring season. Spring Break with Recoil is a family event designed for both shooters and non-shooters of all ages. Planned activities include: - Guided pheasant hunts with Thunderstik’s famous dogs. - Open trap and skeet shooting. - Shooting instruction from world-class shooters like Todd Bender. - Paintball, game nights, casino night, prizes and live music. - Optional hiking, horseback riding, spa day, wild game cooking class, photography class, self-guided day trip to Badlands National Park (just 2 hours away) and more.
