Aspen Dental

5.0

By postitiveaffirmation

I went to Aspen Dental in Traverse City Michigan. The staff was wonderful. They treated me with upmost respect, and the doctor even called me personally to check up on me to see how I was doing, other dentists I have went to "NEVER" did that! Everyone there was friendly and made me feel like I have known them for years, took any fear one would have out of going to the dentist. I had the beginnings of Periodontal disease, which my old dentist told me not to worry about. They treated it, while not cheap it was very effective! Its nice not to have the bad breath associated with periodontal disease and food tastes so much better. I feel Great, and would reccomend anyone that has a hesitation, to look for the positve in reviews as well. Happy People do not complain and there are a lot of very happy people that have went to Aspen 'Dental in Traverse City Michigan. Contgratulations Dr. Julie Dugan, you and your staff have done a wonderful job and are an asset to Traverse City Michigan ...read more

Life Coaching for Depression or Anxiety Disorders

The terms "depressed or depression" are used in our society in different ways. They can be used to describe a short term state of mind we are in following an adverse event in our lives and they can be used to identify a longer lasting medical condition. We interchange them a lot but really, they are two different things. If someone has a medical condition, medication is likely a necessary component of treatment but not necessarily a component of treating a short term setback. By now, most of us have heard from various sources that the medical condition is not something we cause ourselves or that being diagnosed with it indicates personal weaknesses. My question is, do we as individuals or a society believe this statement? Regardless of whether we do or not, studies show that people who seek out a diverse support network have better outcomes. Examining thoughts and behaviors followed by consciously designing a plan to "live your best life" results in even better outcomes. Here is where a life coach will help most people. Our job is to do just this very thing. To learn more about how coaching can help you, contact me at laurenoxholm@gmail.com or 231-421-5515. ...read more

HOT in TC

Monday, July 9, 12:52 p.m. It's hot. It's FREAKIN' hot. It's soooo hot.... Your feet burn when you walk on the sidewalk.  You tell your kids:  'You can fry an egg on the sidewalk" and they believe it.  Going outside feels like opening a convection oven door.  You have to start your car ten minutes before you get in so you don't suffocate.  You feel bad putting your kids in the car and shutting the door.  Shorts stick to your thighs.  Your kids jump into the sprinklers without whining.  The sunlight literally burns your skin on contact.  You try to have a conversation outside, but you're drowned out by the hum of 375 air conditioning units. I live in Michigan, therefore the heat is generally accompanied by 110% humidity.  It means, not only are you hot, you can't breath, either. I've heard "dry heat" is better.  Like:  "it was 125% but it was "dry heat" so it didn't feel so bad!"  Yeah, right.  I've been to Arizona.  125% is 125%.  Period.  Yeah, it's not as moist, but when you get out of the pool you are instantly dry.  You don't need a towel.  The worst part of this is my kids are inside.  All day.  Except for the five minutes when they ran through the sprinklers.  They are basically terrorizing each other.  And I can't escape.  I might as well sit in my convection oven. ...read more
