Horrible customer service. Worst ever. The shed was constructed, but never leveled, as the salesman stated it would be. After a few emails to the salesman, two men showed up unannounced to level the shed. The General Manager, Gary, was one of the men, and was rude and aggressive with me. I asked why they didn't call first, since my husband was not home. He offered to leave, and I agreed, since he had stated they wanted to make holes in the shed in order to jack it up to level it, and my husband needed to be here. Gary was obviously angry about it, and asked where my husband was and why don't I call him so he could talk to him on the phone. I informed him that he was taking a midterm exam at school, and couldn't be disturbed. I asked again that they please call before coming out. Gary said they would. My husband emailed his availabilities (3 days per week# to the salesman that same day, since Gary, the manager, had never given his contact information to us. Our emails were subsequently ignored by the Manager. I called the office a few times, requesting a call back for an appointment to level the shed, which were also ignored.
Then one day, I again called the office and actually spoke with Gary. He promptly launched into a litany of excuses and "how busy we are", "personnel problems #injuries and failure to show up for work#", and how they were trying to get "all this work done before the snow flies". I asked what all that meant for us, since our garden equipment was not in the shed but on the patio covered with snow. He was uncomfortable making an appointment, and tried to make me feel badly that I was not willing to wait even longer to book an appointment. Gary said he would email my husband that day. He never did. I asked that someone call before coming out to confirm the appointment, he agreed, but again, no one did.
The day before the appointment, I called the office to confirm our Wednesday appointment, and spoke to Jim. When he told me that someone would be out Wednesday morning, I stated "No, that's wrong #we requested an afternoon appointment, since my husband is in class in the morning#, but I could never finish my sentence. Jim began shouting at me on the phone. He yelled, "Oh, I know all about you! I've heard too much about this!" And he went on and on. When he stopped, I calmly told him that he didn't allow me to finish my sentence - that we were given an afternoon appointment by Gary that I wanted to confirm. He then stated he would send his man out after lunch and have him go to different site in the morning. I informed Jim that it isn't a good thing to tell your customers off so angrily before hearing what the customer had to say. He then calmed down and agreed that it was not a good thing. He apologized then. The technician came out as scheduled and leveled the shed quickly. He did a good job.
I later gave a review to Tuff Shed's headquarters in Colorado, and was honest about my experience. It obviously got forwarded to the local office in Michigan, because afterward, I got a very sarcastic email from Jim and a voicemail from Gary.
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
