Annual Open Enrollment for Children PRE EXISTING CONDITIONS ACCEPTED
The CareFirst Open Enrollment period for Maryland residents will be available from July 1 through July 31, 2011, for an August 1, 2011 effective date. During the open enrollment period in Maryland, CareFirst will accept child only applications (ages 0 through 18). Applications should be submitted as early as possible to minimize any enrollment delays. Applications, depending upon pre-existing conditions, could be rated up. However, all applications submitted in between the dates above will be accepted. The policy effective date will be the first of the month following the open enrollment period (August 1, 2011).
