Healthy Beautiful Skin with Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is one of the best natural ingredients available for a skin cream. Its unique properties protect against sun damage, repair damage from stress, and can make skin appear more youthful. The antioxidants help to prevent free-radical formation making it especially useful for sun damage protection. Anti- bacterial properties help to heal and protect damaged skin. It can even help keep away the development of liver (age) spots. Absorbing deeply into the skin, coconut oil works to keep theconnective tissuesintact which will help prevent sagging and wrinkling. Why does it work so well? Part of the reason coconut oil works so well has to do with its molecular structure. Its molecules are so small they pass easily through the skin leaving it smooth and soft.  With its anti-oxidant  and anti-microbial properties,  coconut oil is helpful in the prevention of  the damage that causes premature skin aging .  It is also extremely beneficial in soothing irritated and dry skin.  Many people have used coconut oil to successfully treat eczema  and psoriasis. Since coconut oil is also very beneficial for the whole body system, the absorption into the skin, and eventually, the blood, is safe. Remember, 60% of what we put on our skin is absorbed into our bloodstream. It is important to pay attention to a product's safety. We know there are many products using mineral oil (a petroleum product) as a base to provide protection for the skin. However, unlike mineral oil, coconut oil has no adverse effects on the skin.  In fact, coconut oil has been called the ‘healthiest dietary oil on earth".  We see it is often used as a basic ingredient in many of the best creams, lotions and soaps available. Bad Parent

My parenting role has included raising four daughters and two sons.  I have considered my primary responsibility one in getting the child to the age of 18 ... healthy, educated, and capable of self-reliance.  Had you asked me, I would have said I'd done a pretty good job.  All the kids turned good, but not at all in the ways that I had envisioned.  Now to the job of grandparenting. My wife developed a new cosmetic formulation forskin cream.  In my effort to support her, I've learned more about natural, organic  and pure than I ever thought I'd care to know.  Unfortunately, this knowledge "popped my bubble."  I had put my kids at risk from an early age through ignorance and misplaced trust. It seems the big companies makingbaby shampoo, baby lotion, and other suchproductshave delivered products that are unsafe.  Many would not receive approval for sale in theEuropean Union (EU), but theFDAhas approved them citing, " ... toxic levels found in the products are not significant."  What is unsaid is that we use many of these products multiple times daily.  Thus, there is a long-term, additive effect which begins before birth and continues. Researchers have found evidence of more than 300toxinsin the umbilical cord of an unborn child.  How can this happen you ask?  Simple.  We have been addingparabensto products since the middle 1950's as a preservative to extend the shelf-life of products.  They're cheap, reasonably effective, and approved by the FDA (see earlier quote).  But, they're hurting our kids. We find parabens is soap,  shampoo, anti-perspirants/deodorants, toothpaste, mouth wash, cream rinse, skin lotion, and even in some foods we eat.  It is estimated that males get a minimum of six daily exposures to these toxins and women get eight or more.  And if that were not enough, we also need to consider pthylates (plastic used in baby bottles), sodium laurel sulphate (the lather in shampoo and soaps) and other toxins thrown in for good measure. Is it any mystery why breast cancer is pandemic?  Clinical studies have linked parabens, pthylates and sls to cancer and also maladaptive hormonal growth in male children.  So, before I  give myself a pat on the back for raising my kids, I need to understand the great risks I've predisposed them to.  My ignorance, my misplaced trust has lead to their ongoing risks. Kids, I am sorry. Join the discussion atecoMOTIONnow.com ...read more
