Makes me sad to say that I quite possibly hade the worst nail salon experience of my life here. On the morning of my wedding, made an appointment for my bridesmaids and I to get mani/pedis I was VERY specific in saying that we all needed to be done together this was the kick start to my wedding day. We all showed up around the same time and the place was very busy. 4 of my girls were abruptly whisked away back to the pedicure chairs and the other 3 and myself were scattered around the mani tables no where near each other despite there being open tables next to each other. I spoke up and asked if at least one of my bridesmaids could sit next to me and my request was very rudely fulfilled. I wish it ended there. The girl doing my nails..Le I think her name was...was nice at first but as soon as I started telling her how I needed acrylics because I had accidentally broken 3 nails that week and I needed them to look very very natural, she literally snapped and said " I've been doing t ...read more

I read some reviews and being new to the area decided to give this nail salon a try last Saturday. I made an appointment for my girlfriend and I to get manicures. The salon was very clean and updated. Yen and Vincent ended up having us as clients and we were very demanding (being part of the over 40+ crowd) and asked a bunch of questions. They were both very professional and we ended up with beautiful gel manicures. They look amazing! We were so pleased we made future appointments and can't wait to go back. This is a very friendly, family owned business. They are up to date with their product line and very clean. ...read more

Sun Kissed Sunless Tanning FAQ

Why get a Sun Kissed Sunless Tan?Now more than ever, many people simply don't have the time to lie in the sun or tanning bed to achieve a tan year round. Sun Kissed Sunless Tanning delivers a believable, natural-looking tan instantly! How long does a Sunless Tan last?Depending on a person's activities and skin type, the tan lasts approximately 5-7 days but can be up to 10 for some people. With follow up applications, a person can maintain the tan indefinitely. A sunless tan is not a long term commitment and fades naturally, so it is great to try for the first time or for a special event! What is the advantage of Sun Kissed Sunless Tanning over UV tanning?Sunless Tanning is an alternative form of tanning. People with sensitive skin or people who have a hard time tanning will find this form of tanning very comforting. Sunless tanning is an instant solution for those wanting a healthy Sun Kissed glow!Is Sunless Tanning safe?YES! According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the most effective products available are self-tanning products that contain DHA as the active ingredient. DHA is derived from glycerin (vegetable origin), which is a commonly used cosmetic and food ingredients. DHA has been used in cosmetic preparations for almost 30 years and was listed with the FDA in 1973. It is declared safe and suitable for use in cosmetics and drugs used to color the skin. How do I prepare for a Sun Kissed Sunless Tanning session? For the maximum result, shower and exfoliate the skin before your session. Make sure your skin is free of perfumes, lotions, oils, deodorants, gels or any product on the skin that would create a barrier. Also, remove all jewelry and do not put jewelry back on until a few hours after your session. What should I wear?Attire for women is whatever you are comfortable with. We can work to minimize tan lines but many women wear dark swimsuits or undergarments. Attire for men is boxers or shorts. Dark and loose fitting clothing is recommended for you to wear after a Sunless session. How long do I have to wait after a Sunless session before I can shower? We recommend that you wait a minimum of 6-8 hours after your session to give the tan enough time to fully develop. If you shower earlier, you may diminish the intensity of the tan. When you do shower the initial bronzers will wash off and you will see the true color of your Sun Kissed Sunless Tan! You should not rub your skin dry after each shower but instead you can gently pat dry your skin to prevent fading. How long does it take? The entire process from start to finish takes about 20 minutes. We book half hour appointments so you can make sure to ask any questions about the process to our Spray Tan Technicians while you are here.Who applies it?Our female technicians are been thoroughly trained on technique, professionalism and safety.Normally I freckle in the sun... will Sunless Tanning cause freckles? No. Sunless tanning solutions will not cause more freckles. In fact, in most cases, freckles and blemishes will become LESS obvious because the lighter skin areas will darken and reduce the color difference between these areas and the rest of the skin. Will a Sunless Tanning cover up or harm my tattoos? No. Sunless solutions will not harm tattoos, but if you have yellow or light tones, it can temporarily darken the color a bit, until your Sunless Tan fades. If you don't want that to happen, just cover the tattoo lightly with moisturizer lotion BEFORE your tanning session. Are there certain products I can't use after Sunless Tanning?Yes. The products below can lighten your tan or make the sunless tan blotchy if used a few days after your session:-Dove shower gel or soap-Curel lotion -Hair Inhibiting Lotions such as Jergens -Anti-aging products that "renew," "refresh" or exfoliate skin -AHA's (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), Glycolic, Lactic, Malic, Citric, and Tartaric Acids -BHA's (Beta Hydroxy Acids-Salicylic Acid) -Retin-A type products (Retin-A, Renovate, Tazorac, and Trefinoin) -Toners containing Witch Hazel or Alcohol -Anti-acne products that exfoliate the skin-Accutane or Salicylic Acid -Makeup remover cleaning products or oils used to clean away eye makeup -Bar soaps, especially deodorant varieties or anti-bacterial -Use of loofa or a scrub mitt etc. -Band-Aids or adhesive tape -Facial masks or exfoliating scrubs -Adhesive facial strips -Wax hair removal -Depilatory hair removal products …Nair, Veet, Neet etc. -Shaving exfoliates the skin therefore fading the tan. Vitamin D Requirements Tough to Meet Through Diet

USAtoday.comVitamin D, one of the most talked about nutrients of the past few years, is back in the spotlight. The first formal recommendations for daily intakes of calcium and vitamin D for bone health were released this week in a report from the Institute of Medicine. Many Americans are getting enough of these nutrients, except for adolescent girls who may not consume enough calcium and some elderly folks who don't get enough of either, says the report by a panel of experts. Fortified foods and supplement use help, and sunlight triggers the production of vitamin D and contributes to people's levels. But several top national nutritionists say many people will need to fine-tune their diets to reach the vitamin D recommendation of 600 International Units (IUs) a day with food alone, especially if they don't drink much milk or eat a lot of fish."There's no way that people will satisfy those recommendations for vitamin D without supplements," says Elizabeth Ward, a registered dietitian in Boston. There are very few dietary sources of vitamin D, she says, but some of the more accessible ones include fortified milk and soy beverages, fortified orange juice, eggs, salmon and tuna. Many cereals are fortified with 40 IUs or more of vitamin D a serving, and milk and fortified alternatives have about 100 IUs a cup, says Keith Ayoob, a registered dietitian at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. "Many multivitamins have 400 IUs per dose, so a good multi will really give you a leg up."To consume 600 IUs of vitamin D with a single food daily, you would need to eat or drink six cups of milk or 15 servings of most cereals that have been fortified with vitamin D, says Joy Bauer, a registered dietitian in New York. She's not suggesting eating this way, just pointing out how hard it would be reach the goal.Read More:http://www.usatoday.com/yourlife/food/diet-nutrition/2010-12-02-calciumvitaDfollo02_ST_N.htm?csp=34news ...read more
