Ok so I have been here many, many times all my life.and I will never be going back! The only reason I ever went here in the first place is because it is reasonably priced and really one of the only ski/snowboard shops in the area. The Owner is such a snooty little touch hole and has zero sense of customer service what so ever! Just note, I have been in customer service all my life and I actually teach classes on that very subject. So I will just talk about one of the many problems I have had with this man. One day I was going in to look for a new pair of running shoes. When I first walked in he approached me very quickly. He asked if I needed any help with anything? I said no I'm just looking. As he noticed I was looking at shoes he asked what size I was. I told him a 10 . I asked what he had in my size? I pointed out to a few that i liked. He went without me asking and got all those shoes.Once he got back upstairs he wanted to measure my feet just in case. After measuring he said I was a 9. I told him I have taken a size 10 all my life. So against what I said he proceeded to switch out the shoes for size 9's! When I tried them on, they were all so tight I couldnt even wiggle my toes. So basically after arguing with the man that I..me..THE CUSTOMER!!!! wanted to try on something he picked, the SIZE 10 shoes. After trying them on, the ones I liked were a bit more cash then I had on me. So I said to the Owner I need to run to the bank because I don't have my credit card on me and not enough cash. This is the part that really got to me. He said, "are you coming back?" I said I am gonna try. He said," so you had me take all this stuff out and your gonna leave?" I said I have to run to the bank and I am gonna try and make it back, if not I will come back tomorrow. He immediately rolled his eyes and profusely started stomping around picking up the shoes. As I was walking out I said, "I will see you soon." and I got nothing out of him? So I know that someone can have a bad day or what not, but this kind of thing has happened more then once with me. I have never written a review on anything before. But this man has driven me to do so. I have always wondered if the store was some sort of front. I have never seen anyone else in the store besides me and they have been in business for a very long time.lol ...read more

Today I went to Western Village Ski and Sports to buy a pair of Merrell's hiking sneakers. I informed the owner I was a size 11 and he decided to measure my feet. He informed me I was a size 10 and the largest size he had was a size 10. I tried on the shoes and they were a tight fit, but I figured I could break them in, after all he said I was a size 10. I went home, put on the shoes and started to walk down a trail. After 10 minutes of walking my feet hurt so bad. I decided to take the shoes back or at least talk to the owner. He informed me I soiled the shoes and I couldn't trade them in for a bigger size sneaker. I lost $80 and I have sore feet. This wasn't handled professionally and I made a mistake by leaving my shoe size up to the "professional". I support local business, but this business isn't worth supporting. If you want to get a good pair of shoes and to get fitted right - You're better off looking somewhere else. ...read more
