I am a former employee of LPM Holding from 1/09-6/10. I was hired as a cashier although my recent background included 12 1/2 years as a deli owner/operator familiar with all aspects of food service. My original manager, who was recently dismissed, had hired me for 35 hours/wk. When she was dismissed the company (Epicurean Feast) proceeded to begin interviewing candidates for my job saying that they were considering cutting hours. As I had never received a reprimand either written or oral, and had in fact expressed interest in a reduced work schedule to my current manager, I was SHOCKED to be told on Friday that I was to be let go because the company had decided to go in a different direction and I was issued a slip for lack of work. My thought was that they decided to do without a cashier. It was quite a shock to find that the following Monday a new cashier was in my former position. What new direction?? ...read more
