i recently hired A-Team to install vinyl siding on my home, and it came out beautiful! I was very impressed. I got 4 bids and A-Team was the lowest, but that didn't mean the work was under par. It was done very professionally, even the corners, trim, and gutters were all perfect.I recommend this company for any customer in Lafayette and surrounding area.Colby Landers ...read more

This company has very good customer service. They work with your insurance company so you don't even have to worry about that. The work they do is excellent. How to Find the Right Home Improvement Contractor

Finding a good home improvement contractor who can turn your dreams into reality is not impossible; it just requires a few simple steps. Some of the good home improvement contractors in your area probably don’t advertise much because most of their work comes from friends, personal referrals and word of mouth. That may make them hard to find. Get Several Bids The first step most people take when finding the righthome improvement contractoris asking their close friends and relatives if they know of any good ones. While that’s a great place to start, you should also realize that in order to find a good contractor and not overpay that it’s in your best interest get at least three bids before hiring someone to do your home improvement project. A big mistake most homeowners make when hiring a contractor is that they hire the first contractor they find or the first referral they receive. If you want to find a good contractor at a decent price you’ll want to have at least three different pre-qualified contractors bid on your project. Pre-qualifying the contractors will ensure that all of the bids you do get are from reputable contractors. Here’s how you do  it: Check the Contractor’s License To pre-qualify the contractors, you should make sure they have a building contractors license to perform the work you need done. Licensed contractors are subjected to criminal background checks, must have a minimum amount of experience, cannot have any complaints outstanding and have passed aptitude tests specific to their trade as well. You should never consider hiring an unlicensed contractor regardless of how good a deal they are offering, especially for insurance reasons. You also want to make sure the company is bonded and insured. A quick way to check to see if a contractor has a license is to check out their website. Most contractors will proudly display their license number on their website and you’ll find a lot more useful information about what they do on the contractor’s website as well. You may also check the StateLicensing Board for Contractor’sWebsite as well. For instance, general liability insurance is a must for a contractor and most reputable ones will state on their websites that they are fully insured and bonded and that’s the type of home improvement contractor you’re looking for. Most home improvement contractors will also state how long they’ve been in business and display specific information to the work they perform, the types of material they use, and any warranties they provide. For south Louisiana residents, A-Team Home Improvement Contractors has over 25 years of experience in the home improvement and remodeling industry. We proudly display a full website listing our license number, hours of operation, contact information, and lots of information about our products and services. Give us a call for a bid when you are considering a home improvement project; we are sure we can work within your budget to get your project done. A-Team Home Improvements, LLC ...read more

What is a Radiant Barrier and How Does It Work

Aradiant barrieris a material with a very low emissivity and high reflectivity giving it the ability to virtually stop the transfer of radiant heat or thermal conductivity. This allows the radiant barrier to reduce heat gain in the summer and heat loss in the winter, thus reducing the net heating and cooling needs of the structure. While radiant barriers are effective in both hot and cold climates, they are far more effective when installed in attics in hot climates where they can reduce summer heat gain by over 40%. In colder climates, the primary function of radiant barriers are to keep the structures mechanically generated heat inside thereby reducing heating cost by approximately 17%. Radiant barriers are starting to become common place in building and home construction. Whether you are building a new home or live in an older home, it is never too late to add this energy efficient, heat reflecting, aluminum radiant barrier. The attic is generally the easiest and most common place to install radiant barriers, and in this location, our highly reflective aluminum radiant barrier is very effective at reducing both the heat gained in the summer and the heat lost in the winter to make your home more comfortable and save money on utility bills. ...read more
