I bought USB to SATA/IDE from ribbit computers in Wichita Ks, to try access\nmy external hard drive. I plugged my hard drive in and immediately the smell of burning plastic\nand wisps of smoke begin emerging from my once operational hard drive.I decided to take my\nlaptop back to the ribbit computer guys and was told I may have burnt my motherboard because\nI was not supposed to connect the power cord to electricity, which was included in the USB\nadapter and there was no instruction against connecting the power cord to the power socket.They could not fix my computer for 6 weeks. Last time I was at a scrap metal facility was when I was a young man with my uncle 20 years ago. This place is pretty neat an well kept and not what I expected. We were able to recycle a mower and some old golf clubs,a bicycle and a couple computers. I wouldn't say we are getting rich($12) by far from this deal but we now have them gone from our house and that is really what we wanted the most. I would return to this facility again.
