As the owner of Shawnee Mission Builders I'm suprised to find this review. Not only is it an attempt to damage our family business, it also serves to discredit my wife's character. This person faxed an unsolicited spec sheet for a kitchen remodel ( we were not referred to him it was a blanket fax reaching many contractors). After a quick review it was clear this was not a project I wanted. He phoned and was thanked for the consideration and informed we were not going to quote his project. Very upset he called my wife a terrible name. She ended the call right then. I did call him after his contact on our website, took the high road but refused to appologize. He threatened reviews such as the one above. I contacted his partner (who own's the home) and after a brief discussion he agreed all reviews should be removed and this nightmare experience ended. KEEP YOUR BUSINESS AWAY FROM THEM. The woman answering the phone was VERY RUDE, UNCOOPERATIVE, and even hung up on me. Not knowing if the owner knew that his phones were being answered in this manner, and giving them the benefit of the doubt, I went to their website and left a message for him. He later called me back and insulted me. How was I to know that he was married to that rude woman? This is no way to do business -- I would hope you just move on down the list of qualified remodelers and save yourself the grief that these petty, unprofessional folks will no doubt cause you. ...read more
