This past summer, my husband graciously took me back to my hometown (1960s) in Portage, Indiana. We used to ride our bikes up to the Dari Dip for the coolest thing since the YMCA pool in George L. Meyers' parking lot -- the $.50 chocolate/vanilla swirl, heaven in a waffle cone. Memories flooded back when I realized that the secret of the cone is in pushing down with your tongue (on the very first lick) to be sure that the last bite of the waffle cone isn't dry.
