Had my brother's engagement party at Milan Banquet and they completely ruined the event. There was some sort of construction going on inside the facility and there were tools, large equipments and supplies by the bathrooms. Our guests had hard time using the restrooms.There was strong, unpleasant smell coming from where construction was taking place. Also, tables and chairs were being set up by staff while guests were arriving. We paid for decor and sweet table and specified how we wanted things to be done when we signed contract. However, nothing was done according to our contract. The sound system and audio/visuals did not work. Staff gave us hard time when we wished to speak with the manager or owner regarding how horrible their service was. We spoke with some manager name Mike Kazmi on the phone and his response was "this is how we do things". A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Extensive buffet, with breakfast, lunch, fruit table, seafood table (with oysters!), and lots and lots of desserts! Very good service and reasonable prices. The staff goes that extra mile. The coffee is superb as well. With a North Woods lodge theme, this is a cozy and comfortable place that is conducive to leisurely, relaxed conversation. It seems that this restaurant caters mostly to the old time regulars and is not very willing to go that extra for new patrons. This is sad, for with the theater close by they need to welcome the new people not talk down to them or make them feel unwelcome.
